What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]
Allow Italians teachers the adoption of e-pub Wikisource as textbooks in schools.
By Italian law, teachers can force students to get a book for school whatever the book's format, but only if said book has an ISBN.
What is your solution?[edit]
Assign an ISBN code to the e-pub created by Wikisource or by Wikibooks. This code can be entered in the catalog of adoptable textbooks in italian schools.

- ISBNs are assigned by national bodies (usually national libraries, but in the USA there is no central national library) and for this to work we need the active buy-in from some national library who is willing to assign wikimedia the numbers for epubs based on articles. Note that ISBNs refer to particular editions, as soon as someone corrects a typo the ISBN no longer applies to item; in this sense, ISBNs are best thought of as print-run identifiers.
