This language has been verified as eligible. The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. Settings
Project name		"Wiktionary" in your language
Project namespace		usually the same as the project name
Project talk namespace		"Wiktionary talk" (the discussion namespace of the project namespace)
Enable uploads	no	Default is "no". Preferably, files should be uploaded to Commons. If you want, you can enable local file uploading, either by any user ("yes") or by administrators only ("admin"). Notes: (1) This setting can be changed afterwards. The setting can only be "yes" or "admin" at approval if the test creates an Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) first. (2) Files on Commons can be used on all Wikis. (3) Uploading fair-use images is not allowed on Commons (more info). (4) Localisation to your language may be insufficient on Commons.

• Haitian Creole is now widely spoken, it is used by about 14 million people worldwide with most of the speakers coming from Haiti, the US, The Dominican Republic, Canada, and France, it can easily be understood by various ethnic groups in the Caribbean islands who share a similar Creole , but is not Haitian Creole.In addittion various state government in the US, Canada used haitian Creole in their programs and brochures of services to reflect the growing use of this language.— The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.3.247.2 (talk) --Johannes Rohr 08:23, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

• • Haitian creole is an evolutive language and its foundations are yet within the constitution (Constitution 1987); such a dictionary could help to contribute to the spread of the culture of Haiti and encourage to translations; books are numerous on vocabulary and grammary methods of the haitian creole but none of them has a numeric version of these papres(internet interface).
  • There are many websites that are trying to build their own dictionary, a collaborative and opensource projects have demonstrated their forces and efficiency opposite to individual or commercial puproses.
  • this haitian dictionary could be the great interface for all kind of creole in the caribean, isles, west-indies : we could have, like in Index entry (Language Index ) a correspondance between them in a same interface.
  • a dictionary is a basis to bring encouragement and efficient contribution to the construction of numerical documents (looking for a definition, a term, a vocabulary, a grammary point, a linguistic one ..etc)
  • it has got an educational purpose for the children or other youth's who are starting computer science, it could be an open-door
  • many projects have a translation field, we can find the haitian creole language (such as Launchpad website, with the translations projects for ubuntu)

• I wholeheartedly agree! Haitian creole is the 4th largest language spoken in the Americas, after Spanish, English and Portugese, but before French! Approximately 14 million people speak this language fluently, and it is their first language at home, regardless of country of residence. The Haitian language is unique in its own right, and deserves its own chapters in all the Wikipedia subdivisions. • Can you give me easiest explanations on how to activate the Wiktionary, pls? Thx. I am a little bit lost with all that procedure.

• The language proposal is rather long and involved. The easiest explanation is to read the Meta:Language proposal policy. You (or the newbie editor) may also consider creating an account on the Incubator and start creating Wiktionary pages with the prefix "Wn/hat."   You will not lose the work done that is done on the Incubator. That is not an issue. What is an issue is that for one project at least the "mostused" system messages have to be localised. With two requests for Haitian Creole, the whole of the system messages need to be translated.. and I would prefer to have localisation for the extensions the WMF uses. • i used a model to simplify entries in the wiktionary. Do these models be correctly translated ? {{wt/ht/definisyon |term= |fr= |en=}} into {{definisyon |term...}} and internal links like [[wt/ht/malis|malis]] into [[malis|malis]], the second argument will be obsolete but nothing bad :-). Localisation update

One of the criteria for final approval of a second project in a language is the full localisation in this language. At the moment 100.00% of the most used message are done, and 29.64% of all the Mediawiki messages, for the extensions used within the WMF 0.52% has been done. GerardM 11:17, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Could some of translation be done in the time ? We will be able to start the projects meanwhile keeping translating i think.--Masterches 11:12, 1 February 2008 (UTC) There are messages that refer to 2006, 2005, fixed dates (12 july) ...etc, could we translate them for archiving purpose after ?
