Contest department

• The Contest Department has completed its thirty-ninth month of competition. A total of 67 articles were entered by 10 editors. Sturmvogel 66 and YellowMonkey tied for first place with 133 points each, followed by Historical Perspective with 53. Sturmvogel 66 and YellowMonkey both receive the Chevrons, and Historical Perspective the Writer's Barnstar. Honorable mentions go to Parsecboy (35), Djmaschek (21), and Auntieruth55 (20). Cam, The ed17, WikiCopter, and Wild Wolf also fielded entries. Please submit any articles you are working on for the September contest.

• The A-Class medal has been awarded to:
  • Jim Sweeney for British Army during World War I, Robert Peverell Hichens and British Commandos.
  • YellowMonkey for Nguyen Van Nhung, Lê Văn Duyệt and September 1964 South Vietnamese coup attempt.
  • Yoenit for Indiana class battleship, USS Indiana (BB-1) and USS Massachusetts (BB-2).
• The A-Class medal with Oak Leaves has been awarded to:
  • Sturmvogel 66 for HMS Indefatigable (1909), Courageous class battlecruiser and Borodino class battlecruiser.
