Aragonese (in English, aragonés), is a Romance language now spoken by some 10,000 to 30,000 people in Aragon.

There are a lot of medieval texts written in Aragonese, some of them of such importance as the "Cronica de San Chuan d'a Peña" (The Chronicle of San Juan de la Pena) an official history of the ancient Crown of Aragon written at the time of king Peter IV of Aragon. There are also hundreds of legal documents, poetry, narrative and popular texts.

That is why we want to compile in Wikisource some of these documents in order to make references (interesting grammatical constructions, medieval elements, toponyms, antroponyms and so on) in Aragonese Wikipedia and also provide a database of Aragonese texts for speakers, learners and researchers.

• Support I strongly support this long-time need of an Aragonese Wikisource. There are many available texts in the language, some quite unknown to the general audience. Many are medieval but there are also some recent ones. • Support. I think it would be a great opportunity to transcribe and expose those texts from the middle ages which are a valueable source of information both to Wikipedias contributors and external researchers if they were exposed in a suitable organised format as wikiprojects provide, all of them documents referring to the middle ages Crown of Aragon, and the so-called kingdom, which I think are by now less known than expected. Many of those documents can currently be found in the internet in a sort of a mess being thus much prone to miss or escape the reader's eye. Even more, a language like ours that has the most of its speakers living in a diglossic situation and so being impelled to extinction in a few generations might find very useful having a source like this to give some shape to popular stories, traditional tales and romances that still can be registered and told the word through such tool. I'm a user and sysop in the Aragonese Wikipedia, and in my view, this project will be very useful for aragonese speakers, students and scholars researching on modern and medieval Aragonese. There are lots of ancient and modern free texts in Aragonese that are sometimes difficult to find and search in a centralized way. In the case of medieval texts, many people are unaware of their existence. This will make this project very attractive for the aragonese-speaking community. Moreover, Aragonese Wikipedia has had a modest-size but stable and productive community in the last years which is aiming to participate in this new project. • Support, as fas as I know, there is no equivalent of ar:Wikisource on the internet. Small languages, like this one, are the ones that really need this kind of possibility, big ones have usually many other possibilities. ar:Wikipedia has an active community that gives some security about the activity of the new Wikisource. --Ecelan 17:47, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
• Support, for an domain, Ecelan, not ar (arabic) ;) Aragonese users are making a good job at oldwikisource (oldwikisource:Category:Aragonés). And seems there will be continuity, and the project will not be abandoned. Lot of work to do.
