Small wiki audit/Malagasy Wiktionary
Please take a look at this page, where I have detailed the massive problems with the Malagasy Wiktionary. I know that the SWMT mostly fights vandalism, but this is a very large-scale issue on what is actually quite a small wiki in terms of actual editors. I am looking for community input on this, so we can move forward and clean up the mess. Metaknowledge (talk) 02:13, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Am I being ghosted?

...or the WP equivalent thereof, on the Kinyarwanda WP? There's no administrator there, only one highly active editor whom I mentor, and my >100 edits in the last 30 days don't show me among the RW WP's active users, although they do appear as usual in my own User contributions page. An explanation would be appreciated, especially if any intervention is needed. -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 20:18, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean being displayed in rw:Special:ActiveUsers? That's a system generated list, and I have no idea why you aren't being shown on it. I don't think it's a conspiracy against you. – Ajraddatz (talk) 20:31, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Most peculiar. A bug, perhaps? --Yair rand (talk) 20:37, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I made an edit to my userpage and reverted it, and I immediately appeared on the list. So it's not a caching issue. Might be worth filing a phabricator task about. – Ajraddatz (talk) 20:38, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

OP ETA: My recent edit count appears in the Xhosa WP (9 in the last 30 days) but not in Igbo WP where I made several dozen. I do show up in recent edits stats for the Yoruba WP and Zulu WP. I visit these five underserved African language WPs at least weekly, sometimes daily, so this is something I want to clear up before it slips any more. A phabricator task request is the way to go? -- Deborahjay (talk) 20:53, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Update: Phabricator task in process. -- 11:08, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

Template:Translated page

The w:Template:Translated page is needed in the following language projects which have no Admin and few active editors:

 • Igbo
 • Kinyarwanda
 • Xhosa
 • Zulu

The text can remain in English until I can contact a native speaker of each language to substitute a translation. Thank you. -- Deborahjay (talk) 19:24, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Small wiki audit

I'd appreciate some people looking over the page Small wiki audit and giving suggestions (including "this is a stupid idea"). PiRSquared17 (talk) 10:38, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Protection against IP vandals

Two race-related pages in the Igbo WP are being repeatedly vandalized by different IP addresses:

Would page protection to restrict editing to account users accomplish the purpose? Please note that the IGwiki doesn't have an Admin and only a few editors other than Edit-a-thons. I patrol daily and also perform maintenance, but don't know the language. -- Deborahjay (talk) 08:58, 2 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

UPDATE This problem continues on nearly a daily basis. -- Deborahjay (talk) 15:41, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Deborahjay: I have semiproteced those two pages for 3 months for excessive vandalism. In the future, I suggest to write such requests to GSR or SRM, which are monitored by more people capable to act. Thanks! --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:48, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think protection requests like these should be directed to SRM since I'm pretty sure this is not common on small wikis, unlike enwiki. GSR is more for deletion and blocking, pretty much how TwinkleGlobal functions with GSR. Can I Log In (talk) 01:52, 6 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Small wiki audit/Malagasy Wiktionary
