'''Delete global account''' - A user on en.wiki [[:en:Wikipedia:Changing_username/Usurpations#D_winchy|wishes to take the name D winchy]]. It had been used as a sockpuppet, blocked, and then I tried to carry out the usurp (thinking the global account for D winchy would be freed up), but apparently there is still a global account with no home wiki. –[[user:xeno|<font face="verdana" color="black">'''xeno'''</font>]] 18:09, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Rambo

Status:    In progress

Hello. Unsure where to turn I came here. I obtained en:User:Rambo on en.wiki following an SUL request there.[1] I then had a Rambo on en.quote moved so I could obtain the SUL.[2] However, after that was moved I was unable to create the account Rambo on wikiquote because it said it had blocked the username because it belonged to a unified login and the problem didn't seem able to be resolved over there.[3] Now the unified account isn't mine, if I try and manage it from en.wiki it asks me for a password to migrate to the global account but I don't own the global account. However the toolserver says there are no accounts attatched.[4] I think the problem must come from their previously being a global account (I'm guessing the wikiquote one) and it had no accounts attatched to it. This might explain the SUL information of "User registration: 17:59, 27 August 2009" (before the en.wiki one was even made) and "Home wiki: ???". What I'm requesting, for someone to delete the existing global account (if there is one) so I can create it from en.wiki and obtain the wikiquote account. Or, alternatively, a solution to my problem. Thanks for your time,

--Rambo's Revenge 09:54, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are all Rambo accounts yours? 75.137.149.46 21:42, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's pretty likely, since that account made edits. Sounds like a global account delete is needed, as while it exists you'll be unable to create the account on those projects. Do you want to check to make sure that the "Rambo" account on other projects with edits are available first? The accounts on commons, enwikinews, huwiki, jawiki, and rowiki all have edits - You already mentioned that enwiki is yours. Kylu 11:42, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest looking at the edit counts of those accounts I feel confident requests locally would be successful. However, once usurped I still wouldn't be able to create those accounts until the global account delete is completed. Therefore, please proceed with the global delete so I can create the one I have already usurped and get started on the unification process. Thanks, Rambo's Revenge 20:42, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
deleted - Global account had no attached accounts. Kylu 21:27, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've now created the account on en.wikiquote and merged my two accounts. Is it possible to usurp all those accounts that aren't mine as none have a significant amount of edits. I realise some might need local requests but hopefully the others can be done. I'm unsure if ones without any edits are uncontroversial and may be done here, if not I'll guess I'll have to request them individually. Below are all the Rambo accounts that are not mine which I wish to obtain (only w:hu, w:ja, w:ro, n:en, and commons have any edits). Thanks in advance, Rambo's Revenge 22:26, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Index of pages where renaming can be requested and request locally on all projects with local bureaucrats. If a project has active, local bureaucrats, we can not perform the rename here. Meta should be done on the linked page, even though it's located on the same project as this page, and mediawiki.org was just added to the list. We'll handle Turkish Wikiquote, but please make some headway on your local requests first. Kylu 22:55, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Request fulfilled at Commons. Requests posted at wikinews and Meta. I didn't realise you couldn't fulfil requests here for sister projects with crats. If any steward has crat status on an above listed project I would appreciate them fulfilling the request otherwise I'll slowly attempt to place individual requests locally. Rambo's Revenge 16:52, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, that's how the system works. Projects are created to be semi-autonomous initially, and we simply don't have the right to step in and override the local community. The burden, frankly, it squarely placed on the shoulders of the person requesting the renames - it was never intended to be simple to bulk-rename or usurp accounts. Kylu 15:23, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I understand. However, I do think on projects with a tiny handful of crats who may be semi/inactive this is a bit roundabout to request there, wait, then relist here. Currently, I've listed requests at all english speaking projects as they have less burden. Rambo's Revenge 15:35, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, but them's the rules. Keep in mind that the majority of bureaucrats out there on non-English projects can speak the language just fine, by the way. If you don't grok the local language, they can still communicate with you. Kylu 15:39, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In posting requests the mk.wiki is not listed at the Index of pages where renaming can be requested. How do I go about changing that one, or is it done here? Rambo 11:50, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't find a local page for renames, but as all the bureaucrats are en-3 or better, it doesn't matter so much. Just ask one of them on their talkpage. (Hint: Check contributions for them first to make sure you get an active bureaucrat.) Kylu 16:21, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
All these have been done except the one without crats. Can this be done so this can be completed. Thanks, Rambo 23:35, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done at trwikiquote. Old "Rambo" account usurped & renamed to "Rambo (usurped)". --dferg ☎ talk 23:42, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When I started to contribute to other wikis than my local one, I've got to usurp those accounts, but they're too many and I don't know where to start. I don't speak all those languages! I know some of those wikis may have active bureaucrats, but I'm lost... Could you help me usurp as many as possible of said accounts?

Striker 21:59, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done for simplewiki. -Barras 22:08, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Tagged all the ones I know have bureaucrats. I-20the highway 02:33, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There is no Cantonese Wiktionary. Perhaps you would mean Cantonese Wikipedia. I have tagged more wikis with local bureaucrats.Jusjih 01:35, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since there are no projects without bureaucrats left I'm marking this as done. --Erwin 09:15, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I want to usurp the following accounts with 0 edits in projects without bureaucrats

--L 15:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears zh-yue wikipedia has a local bureaucrat still, please place a request at zh-yue:Wikipedia:改用戶名 and give him some time to respond.
Russian Wikibooks done - No activity on the account since its creation in 2007, no email set. Kylu 16:11, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for ru.books. i have placed a request for zh.yue on the local request page on 12 sept: [5] in the past requests on this page have been answered quickly (on same day), but my request has got no reply (neither positive nor negative) until now. can you do something about it?
i have also made requests in a number of other projects. some with success, but many without any reaction:
  • mediawikiwiki: on sept 2 [6], local user has 16 edits, but all of them vandalism (blanking of pages).
  • eowiki: on sept 10 [7]
  • arwiki: on sept 1 [8]
  • nds-nlwiki: first crat sent me to second (and only other) crat, on second crats talk page some diskussion with another user, but no reaction from crat [9]
  • some more requests in the last days
You may want to consider just asking in that section, "Do you mind if the Stewards perform this rename?" ... if there's no response in a few weeks, they probably don't care. There's quite a few folks who take up the mantle of bureaucrat without understanding that it's little more than a new set of annoyances, I think. :) Kylu 16:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have found another account on a wiki without crat:

--L 11:11, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--62.226.141.119 16:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done the io.wiki and nov.wiki--Nick1915 - all you want 16:43, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some more wikis without reaction from the local crat:

Any others, or can we archive this section? Kylu 12:15, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dato deutschland - > Dato Deutschland

Hello. I have been renamed on the ka wikipedia by local beaurocrat. My old account was - Dato deutschland, and now I have two accounts in Georgian wiktionary, German wiki and wiktionary :( Can the be merged into one - Dato Deutschland? Thanks! --Dato Deutschland 17:56, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We can't merge two accounts into one, sorry. Kylu 19:45, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Objectivist

Status:    Not done
According to the Login Unification page, I have accounts at these places in WikiMedia:
 * en.wikipedia.org
 * en.wikisource.org
 * en.wikiversity.org
 * meta.wikimedia.org
 * simple.wikipedia.org
 * wikisource.org
And I believe that is correct.
However, it appears someone else uses the name here:
 * en.wikibooks.org
Because so far as I recall, I've never used that site. I recognize the benefits of having a unified account, but I also want to be polite. I'd like to request a kind of "lockdown" on the use of my username on all the other Wikimedia sites not listed above, to prevent any other/future duplications. And I'd like the wikibooks "Objectivist" to be asked to consider selecting a new name. I do not wish to force the issue; if I've not in the past accessed wikibooks as an editor, it may be that I won't need to in the future. In which case the Wikimedia Unification software somehow needs to handle exceptions like this one, where two people with the same username each have a kind of limited/unified account, with no overlaps between the two. Thank you! --Objectivist 06:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As you have the global account Objectivist users are already prevented ("lockdown" in your speak) from creating accounts with the name "Objectivist" on other wikis. This was done automatically when the global account was created (back in Nov 2008), however the en.wikibooks account dates from before that happened. To obtain that account place a request over there (at b:en:Wikibooks:Requests for renaming). Best of luck, Rambo 13:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Objectivist 17:32, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Marking as Not done, as there are local bureaucrats and Rambo has sufficiently answered the question for the user. Kylu 19:44, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blasphemer

Status:    Not done

Hi, I'm Blasphemer on he.wikipedia. I want to usurp the en Blasphemer account. the SUL page says it has unknown registration date, and has not edited articles at all. I wish to contribute to English Wikipedia with the same account.

85.250.140.231 19:25, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The English Wikipedia has bureaucrats and a process to perform this function locally. Please visit en:WP:CHU, read the directions there, and follow them in order to request the usurpation. We do not perform usurpations on projects with active bureaucrats. Kylu 19:43, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, doing as you have suggested. Blasphemer1978 12:27, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So I would like to merge the account on nl.wikipedia.org into my current account

Thank you Rubberron 20:23, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
