I'm Cormac Lawler: Cormaggio on various projects, Wikimedia and non-Wikimedia. I've been involved in researching Wikipedia as a learning community, specifically looking at interpersonal communication and conflict. For my PhD, I'll be researching the progress of Wikimedia UK, a Wikimedia local chapter (see plan and blog).

No, scratch that - I'm most likely going to focus on Wikiversity for my research, for this year at least (though I'll certainly be remaining involved in Wikimedia UK). Please get in touch with ideas or comments via this page, my en: user page, or email, if you prefer.

I'm Cormac Lawler: Cormaggio on various projects, Wikimedia and non-Wikimedia. I've been involved in researching Wikipedia as a learning community, specifically looking at interpersonal communication and conflict. I used this page in part for my dissertation (available on my en:wp user page), so that people could share their experiences of Wikipedia, like conflict, consensus, bias and neutrality, though it wasn't so active - this also fed into my Wikimania paper. See here (and it's talk page) for my initial research, which resulted in this paper. I'm interested in the Wikimedia Research Network, but more along sociological/educational, rather than technical, lines, and particularly in the development of Wikiversity, which I'll be researching for my PhD.

I'm also on the Special projects committee. Please get in touch with questions, ideas or comments (about anything) via this page, or email, if you prefer.
