I'm Cormac Lawler: Cormaggio on various projects, Wikimedia and non-Wikimedia. I've been involved in researching Wikipedia as a learning community, specifically looking at interpersonal communication and conflict, which was the basis of my M.Ed. dissertation (available on my en:wp user page), and also my paper for Wikimania 2005. This year, for my MSc, I'm looking at the development of Wikiversity, which I've been involved in myself - see my research proposal for details.

As well as research, I'm also very interested in Wikimedia chapters, and I've been working on developing Wikimedia UK, and hope to continue to do so. I'm also on the Special projects committee. See [[:Research/Cormac_Lawler_questionnaire|here]] (and it's talk page) for my initial research, which resulted in [[User:Cormaggio/A_small_scale_study_of_Wikipedia|this paper]]. I'm interested in the [[Wikimedia Research Network]], but more along sociological/educational, rather than technical, lines, and particularly in the development of [[Wikiversity]], which I'll be researching for my PhD. Also, chapters are a very exciting development for Wikimedia, and I've been working on [[Wikimedia UK]], and hope to continue to do so.
