SVG images

How about switching from PNG to SVG images? PLEASE NOTE: these are shown larger (90px) than the default size (45px) to show detail!

Before I create all of them, I wanted to get feedback on the idea. The files themselves are about twice as big but I see three distinct advantages:

  1. size of the board & pieces can scale without problem (as shown above)
  2. SVGs are rendered as PNGs so as an end-user there is no difference
  3. SVG-based generated PNGs seem to be smaller than the current PNGs

Feedback please! :) If I forget to respond (I seem to rarely visit meta wiki), I'd appreciate a reminder on en:User talk:Cburnett. Cburnett 02:28, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
