Origin of THengalai Iyengars
Hi Just a question - even though it does not really matter - This is for a debate SO long I was under the belief that Saint Ramanujam converted many non Brahmins as Iyengars in Srirangam And they were subsequently called Thengalai Iyengars. Now I have a doubt - I came across another person saying that Ramnujam was a Vadakali and he converted all non Brahmins to the Iyengar fold and they are called the Vadakali Iyengars - I still feel that Ramanujam was a great social reformer and he wa sa Vadakali and converted many people to Thengalaki Iyengars. Can you please clarify
