Etiquette

Etiquette is a very old and general idea. Some consider it to be formal w:hypocrisy. Others consider it to be the expression of ethics and morals in casual situations and polite language, mostly the evasion of difficult situations, and the choice to avoid contention and conflict. What do you think? Is there any special etiquette that must apply to consensus editing as practiced here? Is there any general etiquette principle that we must keep constantly in mind, e.g. avoid w:ad hominem attack, avoid uses of power that seem arbitrary, etc.? Is there a difference between this project and a real w:risk-sharing w:community? Enter your own opinions here:
