I want to usurp the following accounts with 0 edits in projects without bureaucrats

--L 15:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears zh-yue wikipedia has a local bureaucrat still, please place a request at zh-yue:Wikipedia:改用戶名 and give him some time to respond.
Russian Wikibooks done - No activity on the account since its creation in 2007, no email set. Kylu 16:11, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for ru.books. i have placed a request for zh.yue on the local request page on 12 sept: [1] in the past requests on this page have been answered quickly (on same day), but my request has got no reply (neither positive nor negative) until now. can you do something about it?
i have also made requests in a number of other projects. some with success, but many without any reaction:
  • mediawikiwiki: on sept 2 [2], local user has 16 edits, but all of them vandalism (blanking of pages).
  • eowiki: on sept 10 [3]
  • arwiki: on sept 1 [4]
  • nds-nlwiki: first crat sent me to second (and only other) crat, on second crats talk page some diskussion with another user, but no reaction from crat [5]
  • some more requests in the last days
You may want to consider just asking in that section, "Do you mind if the Stewards perform this rename?" ... if there's no response in a few weeks, they probably don't care. There's quite a few folks who take up the mantle of bureaucrat without understanding that it's little more than a new set of annoyances, I think. :) Kylu 16:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have found another account on a wiki without crat:

--L 11:11, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--62.226.141.119 16:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done the io.wiki and nov.wiki--Nick1915 - all you want 16:43, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some more wikis without reaction from the local crat:

Any others, or can we archive this section? Kylu 12:15, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
--L
I think the usurpation on nds-nl offended the local administrator, as he left a question about it. I'll abstain from the rest of these until the matter is cleared up, I think. There's plenty of other stewards, though. Kylu 04:13, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
@Kylu: Please check again: Erik Warmelink (also: ErikWarmelink) is not an admin. I asked both crats on the wiki, both they did not answer. Erik was the only on to answer: at first he talked in favour of a 4 year waiting time but than changed to "I am OK with the usurpation." see: http://nds-nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overleg_gebruker:Servien#usurp_L
Does this clear up matters? --L
Correct on the non-adminness, but the sequence of events is that the question was posed after his being OK with the usurpation. Anyway, I'd rather get a response from him first, as lack of adminness doesn't make his opinion less valid. Kylu 11:06, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done at es.wikiversity since their bureaucrats does not respond to communications and are long time inactive. --dferg ☎ talk 23:14, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cristian

Status:    In progress

Hi guys. I'm Rebel from ro.wp (ro.ws sysop). I have recently decided to use my real name during my time here. However, I don't intend to give up this account, as I've been active using this username for the past 6 years (not to mention it's a lady killer). Pathoschild was kind enough to suggest this is the place where I should post my request. In order for me to create a unified account named Cristian, I require your assistance in renaming my account on ca.wikibooks (Cristian2) to Cristian. I'm certain you'll notice that account has a total of 18 edits and the last one occured in March 2009, about two years ago. Unfortunately, ca.wikibooks has no bureaucrats that might deal with my problem locally. So here I am. Appreciate it. Cheers. --Rebel 04:57, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cristian at ca.wikibooks has edits and therefore usurpation might not be granted. Comments welcome, -- Dferg ☎ talk 09:31, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reacting. As you mentioned, w:en:Wikipedia:Usurpation states that the target username should [quote] have no edits or significant log entries to qualify for usurpation (though rare exceptions are made in some circumstances). Now considering rare exceptions are made sometimes, kindly bear in mind that the user has not been active since 2009 and we are talking about 18 edits. Apart from that, the guidelines mention that usurping is [quote] probably appropriate when target username consents. Now I have no objection and actually volunteer to contact the current owner and make him aware of the situation, but I'm rather certain he doesn't check his ca.wikibooks account too often. I also agree to contacting him by e-mail on this matter in order to ask for his consent, should he have his e-mail account activated. Thanks. --Rebel 15:12, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Comment Since the account on cawb does not have any mainspace edits (i.e. project goals), only a few other edits (along the lines of this) and it's been inactive for a long time, I'd personally not object to a usurp. fr33kman 20:25, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On hold I've emailed the account holder regarding the usurption. Let's give it a few weeks for them to answer or not. If not I think we can go ahead with the usurption, under these circumstances. fr33kman 00:13, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done User usurped, no word from prior holder fr33kman 20:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Long story short, managed to get a unified account and now looking to join the other accounts under this name. The following are projects where the username has 0 edits:
The following have at least one edit (but no more than 12) yet are inactive since 2009:
Someone's going to have a lot of fun doing this. Cheers. --Rebel 22:32, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vyasa (problem with unifying accounts)

Status:    In progress

I have created different accounts in different Wikipedia languages (and projects) with the same name (Vyasa). The global unification correctly identifies all accounts including the main/first one w:id:VyasacontribslogCentralAuthusurp. The problem is I used different e-mail address and password for that one, and I cannot retrieve the password back. Could the main account change to w:en:VyasacontribslogCentralAuthusurp? Thanks in advance!

If you forgot the password, try to recover it by e-mail. Ruslik 06:53, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is the problem. I've tried it several times and I don't get the e-mails. Maybe I used another e-mail address, but I don't remember anymore. But at least I can still log on with the other accounts. Now is the question if the main account can be changed to w:en:VyasacontribslogCentralAuthusurp, so I can use the global login. --Vyasa 10:59, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

--Vyasa 20:32, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You should continue editing enwiki or enwikisource. Once the number of edits in one of these projects exceeds that in idwiki, your home wiki will change. Ruslik 11:40, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Now I manage to create a global login account unifying all other accounts, except w:id:VyasacontribslogCentralAuthusurp (this is my very first account, and I forget the password and e-mail address I used). Can I ask this account to be merged to the global account? Thanks in advance! --Vyasa 18:56, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We can't merge accounts, but you can ask a local bureaucrat to rename that account to any other name and then you can create a new account by SUL. -- Màñü飆¹5 talk es 19:16, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't want to rename that account, that account is mine (you can check that the originating IP for that account's edits are more less the same as my other account's edits in the same period; and before I changed the e-mail address of that account, it had the same e-mail address like the other accounts). How can I recover that account if I forget the e-mail address and password? --Vyasa 10:37, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your account in idwiki has no edits, so it can simply be renamed and recreated. If you forgot your e-mail and/or password there is no way to recover them. Ruslik 13:07, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ramir

Status:    In progress

Greetings to appointed Stewards of the Wikimedia Foundation. UNDER TWO IMPORTANT CONDITIONS would I like to unify my account:

  1. THAT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL IT BE PERMITTED THAT MY LOGIN DETAILS, OR ANY PRIVATE DATA HOWEVER AVAILABLE THROUGH MY USE OF WIKIMEDIA WEBSITES, BE MADE ACCESSIBLE, IN ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT WAY, TO ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH ANYONE INVOLVED, IN THE PAST, OR EVER, IN RUSSIAN WIKIPEDIA.
  2. That my ‘main’ user-login is that at the English Wikipedia, not, as it shews presently, the Russian Wikipedia.

To the best of my memory I have not ever held possession of user-account "Ramir" at ar.wikipedia.org. I have failed to remember, or to confirm otherwise, my connection with "Ramir" accounts on the following: en.wiktionary.org, es.wikipedia.org, fi.wikipedia.org, pt.wikipedia.org
Thanks if you would help me. Ramir 04:48, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All these wikis have local bureaucrats. Please, ask them locally. Ruslik 07:14, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Ramir. As you can see here, your account is already unified. Whether an account is unified or not does not affect the handling of your private data in any way as far as I know. For information about how your private data is handled, you may want to read the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy.
Your home wiki is decided automatically by the software when you first unify your account. Ru.wikipedia was the project where you had the most edits at the time (and still do), so it was decided as your home wiki. The only way to change that would be to wait until you have more edits on en.wikipedia than ru.wikipedia and then unify your account again. Jafeluv 07:17, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What of the “Check User” business then? There are known cases of privacy-theft on ru.wikipedia (sorry, no English-language links), — I just want them not to have further access, like, to my use of commons.wikimedia.org, mostly. Complicated stuff. Ramir 22:32, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want to unite my account but he cannot in the following wikis: ( en and it ). I want to obtain those accounts. Urbanuntil 109.203.165.68 01:22, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done En.wikipedia and it.wikipedia have local bureaucrats, so you'll have to make the request locally (here for en.wikipedia, here for it.wikipedia). Jafeluv 01:36, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ekin

Status:    In progress

I want to usurp the following accounts. I hold the claim to the SUL of username Ekin. All of them have 0 (zero) edits and contributions.

--Ekin 10:19, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done mswikt; others all have local bureaucrats that can perform the usurpation, please ask them. -- Mentifisto 10:39, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moises

I want to usurp the following accounts. I hold the SUL of username Moises and my home wiki is ca.wikipedia.org (http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usuari_Discussi%C3%B3:Moises). All of them have 0 (zero) edits and contributions.

All the folllowing projects have bureaucrats, but I can't write the language nor understand the usurpation page

  • da.wikipedia.org
  • ko.wikipedia.org
  • ro.wikipedia.org
  • sv.wikipedia.org
  • tl.wikipedia.org

How can I do the username MoisesSUL request in those projects? --Moises 15:58, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have you tried posting a request in English? Jafeluv 20:43, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with the projects with bureaucrats listed, is because I can't understand the idiomof this wikis, and I'm not able to arrive to the correct page to do the SUL request. There are many wikis, i.e. german, that ofer the same page in german version and in english vesion as a "lingua franca", but not all the wikis do. If there is an alternative solution, tell me and i'll try. Thanks. Moises 12:38, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There's a handy list of pages where renaming can be requested here. If there's no specified page, you can contact a local bureaucrat on their talk page (see the "crats" link in your original list above). Most of them understand English just fine. Usurpation pages for the projects you listed:
Hope this helps. Jafeluv 12:01, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There also this, like it says above to read before asking here. fr33kman 16:46, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want to usurp the following account

I own the account already but it is unattached. Auto-creation failed for some unexplicable reason, so I made a new account by hand (same password and e-mail). (Note: This could be a bug, but I would like to know if this is perhaps a known issue before I file a report.) --Prüm 19:21, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can delete your global account, so you can re-merge it. Ruslik 19:42, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I expect that would solve it. Has this happened before or could this be just a random glitch? --Prüm 22:31, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done, please reunify. It happened before. Matanya 22:33, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to, but it won't work - the ar:wiki still does not appear on the list for attachment, all the others do. What should I do next? --Prüm 10:48, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Try to merge from w:ar:Special:MergeAccount? Nemo 10:52, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Exact same result. --Prüm 10:54, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Even if you login into arwiki? Ruslik 12:53, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. I need to be logged in there to do the merging, ain't I? --Prüm 13:27, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Have you seen "If these accounts do belong to you, you can finish the login unification process simply by typing the passwords for the other accounts here:" at any time? It's usually at the bottom of MergeAccount and stays there as long as at least one account is unattached. Right now you still have no unified accounts at all, though. -- Mentifisto 13:35, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I dont't think so, but I'll give it a try. --Prüm 13:54, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yay, that did it, thanks a lot. I guess that hint would be a helpful addition to Help:Unified login. Since this seems to be a minor issue, I won't start a bug report. Cheers, --Prüm 14:16, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My SUL account (user:Flyax)is unattached to nn.wiktionary. Could you please do something? --Flyax 07:16, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does the account on nn.wiktionary belong to you ? If it's the case, just use Special:MergeAccount, assuming that your password or your email address on nn.wiktionary is the same as on your SUL account. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 07:56, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have no account on nn.wiktionary. I try to log in there as Flyax and I cannot. --Flyax 07:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Since the account had no edits and local crats are inactive I've usurped (renamed) the account - you can unify it now. -- Mentifisto 08:23, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. --Flyax 11:19, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
