Could someone carry out the local notification mentioned in Requests_for_comment/Abigor for active projects? A polite link to the cross-wiki issues discovered/discussed would be useful for projects that do not engage on Meta. –SJ talk | translate   23:02, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Removal of administrator permissions on en.wiki

With the fulfillment of bugzilla:18390, English Wikipedia bureaucrats now have the technical ability to remove administrator privileges and the authorization to do so in the specific situations outlined at w:Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Removal of adminship.

The use of these procedures is not intended to constrain the authority of the Wikimedia Stewards to undertake emergency removal of permissions on their own discretion, pursuant to the relevant policies governing Steward actions.
