For now, you might start text/layout for the next Wikimania main page here : Wikimania 2006 main page. You mentioned something about needing a sysop flag for this kind of work... can you explain? There's no favoritism given to wikimedians volunteering to help out, regarding presentations; you might want to clarify on your userpage that you plan to submit an abstract rather than that you're a "potential presenter" at Wikimania :-) That said, submit an abstract already! deleting images, &c

Please don't speedy any images. This is not en:wp; the deletion criteria are very different.

Mainly you need to be very careful about historical, foreign language, and miscellaneous pages as well as essays. Both me and Amgine (and maybe others) have restored stuff you have deleted recently - I mean you are making other mistakes as well - i.e. with blocks. I really reccommend laying off the administrator abilities at least for a week or so - I mean by watching how other admins like Aphaia, Oscar etc. do stuff for a while you may get a better feel for it. Sj's comment above as well - i.e. if someone asks you to please stop you shouldn't need someone else to "back them up". I do sympathize though - Meta isn't exactly an active place a lot of time... Deletions

Please don't speedy delete any content on meta that was added before 2006. Just tag it with { historical }, or put it on RfD and wait a few weeks for discussion. There is no clear consensus on what content is "meta-related" - and your impression of what is meta-related seems to be more restrictive than some others' opinions.

Many interesting historical pages which should be kept / classified / archived, not deleted. For instance, pages such as Idea Generation (which you speedied yesterday) seem to me clearly relevant historical meta-content from the early days of Wikipedia, yet you speedied it yesterday. Oh, and give my best to Phaedriel. I put her through the wringer, but she will come out better for it. Since she is associated with law enforcement, I am sure that she found this false label of "death threat" to be highly offensvie on the Foundation's part. I am requesting this user be blocked/a name change for inappropriate user name. The user name reads "Hong Kong's bin Laden". There was an extortion case in Hong Knog several years ago which involves a person nicknamed "Hong Kong's bin Laden" attempting extorting money from a beverage company.

Board of Trustees elections

The Wikipedia Signpost, a community-newspaper in the English Wikipedia, is covering the Board of Trustees elections and will be featuring each of the candidates in next week's issue. As such, we would appreciate it if you would take some time to answer a few interview questions. Each candidate will be asked the same questions; by no means, though, feel obligated to answer any (or even) all of them, though we would greatly appreciate it if you did.

Some of the questions may be a bit redundant to the candidate information you have filled out already. This is both for convenience and for giving you the opportunity to expand on some of them a bit.
