Please, promote Alex Smotrov sysop and bureaucrat flags. There's a vote about his bureaucratship, and everybody (including former bureaucrat, Ramir) supported him — VasilievV 2 11:15, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm terribly sorry for this, but it seems to me that I've overlooked some things. Namely, it's best not to give permanent sysop status on ru.wikibooks, since all the recent commotion over there. So, I have to limit this status to temporary only. The period is six months, which can be extended, if the user wishes (when the time comes). So, this adminship expires on July 26, 2008. Again, I apologize for this inconvenience. --FiLiP ¤ 10:35, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Snakesteuben@fy and Sonne@fy Wiktionary

We request sysop access.

Why an appointment is needed: Currently our project has no real admin. (The only admin is DerHexer, one of you guys, who is obviously very busy, so has not been particularly active on our project. I believe this has been the case for about a year now. Our user interface is shabby, and Sonne has theorised that the difficulty of making entries may be one reason other users (we have 104 registered) are, or have become, reluctant to contribute. I would like to attend to updating/creating our common.css and .js, as well as the editing tools and buttons available, as soon as possible.

Also routine tasks have gone unattended for some time. E.g., needless to say, candidates for speedy deletion--aren't.

Community Approval: I have checked with sysop DerHexer, who suggested making this request.

There was no substantive response to the entry linked above. The entry was posted only one week ago. However, Sonne and I are the only two users who have created or edited pages since the third of this month (during the entire past month, one registered user made three edits, and contacts of mine, unregistered on our project, left me messages in a couple places.) So I think it's safe to say we have a consensus. ;-) Additionally, in the near future, I may be taking on some rather complex work that would limit time I can devote to the project. So time may be somewhat more of the essence than in the normal case.

Qualifications: Sonne and I are making this request jointly. Neither of us is comfortable taking on the job alone. Sonne is a native speaker of the project's language, while I have been self-teaching for a month now. On the other side, I have a handle on the tech. I'm currently running a bot, and have become familiar with complex templates and parser functions. I have some knowledge of css and js, and have made good contacts on the English Wikt who have pointed me to their code and explained some of the workings to me.

Sonne and I would both prefer to have an admin who has already served on another project. A diligent effort to find one has been made. I put messages on the discussion pages of prior admins I could locate, both on the wikt project and the sister wp project. Then the general appeal linked above was posted. Another user (one of you guys, perhaps?) posted that he had made an appeal at the village pump on our sister wikipedia site.

Sonne is not registered here, so is not seconding this request on this page. We did not think that would be necessary. Please see the bottom of my local talk page for evidence of our agreement.

Finally, if, for any reason, permanent appointment is deemed inappropriate, please consider this a request in the alternative for other appropriate relief, including but not limited to temporary appointment, or any other remedy as you may see fit.

Thank you. Snakesteuben 10:51, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that translation of the user interface should *not* be done in the wiki itself, but on Beta-Wiki. Create an account there and ask some bureaucrat there for translator status. These translations are then used in all Wikimedia wikis. --Thogo (talk) 10:55, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. That was fast. You actually read my user page! Understood, good to know, and will do. So, if the wp people had done it that way, the stuff I was going to copy from them would have magically appeared for us, too? Snakesteuben 11:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If the WP people had done it on Beta Wiki, you would be able to use these translations on all Wikimedia Wikis, by setting your preference to Frisian. But anyway, I guess the wiki is yet too small to get permanent sysops, so I granted you both temp sysopship for 3 months for any kind of .js and .css maintenance and deleting/blocking and all this kind of stuff. Expiring 29 Jul 2008 Just come here some days before that and drop a note that you want to have it extended (if you want that). So this is Done. :) --Thogo (talk) 11:08, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two voters supported, 24 total users including global stewards, meta and commons admins, and commons delinker. May I suggest requesting temporary adminship instead? There's really no local community as of yet. ~Kylu (u|t) 03:48, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see a point in the temporary adminship, if I have to be the one coming back every couple of weeks or so and requesting extensions. The adminships are not only to lead the community, but for technical reasons as well (the main reason I nominated this user for adminship, since a recent update broke the way things are done, and I, the only admin, was busy at the time to fix it). At this point the community has decided that there is a need for this adminship (however small, there certainly IS a local community), and as far as I know the stewards are there to implement local community decisions (anyone is welcome to scrutinize the local policies and procedures). Thanks for the suggestion though. ― Teak 15:33, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Temporary adminships can be for far longer than a couple of weeks, depending on the situation. 3 months is not at all uncommon. Thats a fair bit of time to get a lot of work done, and perhaps, build a community to support a permanent adminship. I highly recommend you ask for a temp adminship for say, 3 months. ++Lar: t/c 19:53, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Teak, thanks for Your work at hy.wikisource, please let me clarify a missunderstanding: You said: "The adminships are not only to lead the community, but for technical reasons as well" - sorry but the adminship is not to lead anyone, it is technical only, any admin is just a normal user with the same rights and voice but has additionally to fulfill the communities requests for deletion, maintaining, etc. this is not a status of leadership at all but like the status of a janitor. Thanks for Your understanding.
I agree with Lars suggestion for 3 months, I think we can do this in this request (so You don't have to open a new one) if You agree, thanks, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 20:40, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To amplify on what 'birdy's saying... an adminship is not given to "lead" a community by telling them what to do. But an admin, even a temporary one, can cause a community to come into existance where one was not present before. If there is leadership to be done it is leading by example... showing others who maybe stopped by briefly and did one or two edits, that there is a cadre of interested and active workers (even if it's a cadre of just one person at first) and thus encouraging them to get involved... and once they are, showing them the wiki way of cooperation, open-ness, consensus and creation of neat stuff to draw them in and make them feel welcome. that's leadership all right, but it's not the boss people around kind, it's far harder than that. ++Lar: t/c 20:51, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea why we are talking about this here, but there was no misunderstanding to begin with, though it did seem to develop in the last two comments. The verb "lead" in my first reply was meant in the sense of "showing leadership" (by example, by actively engaging in the development of policies and procedures, helping newcomers, soliciting community opinions on controversies and so on), and not in the sense of "ruling" (I strongly disagree with birdy's definition of a sysop=solely_"janitor", and don't think anyone who doesn't have an established leadership presence in the community should be granted adminship, but that's beside the point here). Kylu suggested that the small size of the local community implies lack of necessity of an admin (no community, hence no need of leadership in the sense stated above). In response to this comment I explained the reason why I nominated this user, and why I'm against temp adminship. Lar says that the temp adminship may be requested for longer periods, though my experience has been that temp adminships are given for particular tasks. When the project was created, I asked for a temp adminship for one month for import from test project + "general sysop chores", and was given sysop rights for only two weeks. Then had to come back and ask again for temp adminship for "general sysop chores", which expired in another month. I know that some temp adminships are for periods of half a year or more, but they are generally for first projects in a language, for which there is a huge amount of sysop work even with no local community. This is not the case with hy.wikisource, which is quite an active project, even with a small community (wikisource doesn't require a large community to thrive). In hy.wikisource we have a very cooperative (although small) community, and there is a need for a sysop who can fix things fairly quickly when they are broken, without having to go through the whole meta-monster and the bureaucracy of requesting a temp adminship. And the community has measured the pros and cons and voted on it. So please implement the community decision by granting the sysop status to the user. ― Teak 08:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Kylu's statement is that there isn't a big enough community on that wiki, yet, to support a permanent sysop. I'll be blunt, if I may: Requesting permanent sysop-hood isn't going to happen at this time. Put in a request under temporary, ask for three months, and let them grant it so everyone (including yourself) can go back to what we do best. ~Kylu (u|t) 23:46, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Kylu. I'd grant you a 3 month temp if you ask for it, it seems reasonable not to make you come back every so often, but at this time a permanent doesn't seem warranted. I do hope you understand++Lar: t/c 03:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kylu, don't let me keep you from going back to what you do best... Lar, who decides whether at this time it "seems warranted" or no?! I went over steward policies several times, and it doesn't look like such a decision belongs with the stewards. If there is a specific policy I'm not aware of, which specifically says that there must be a community of specific size to "support" a specific number of permanent sysops, please let me know. And in case there is such a policy, let's apply it universally to all projects. Otherwise, I've explained my position on the necessity of the admin, and have communicated the community decision. It's now up to the stewards to implement this decision by granting the status, or deny it on specific grounds. If you think that the status should be granted temporarily, please do so with your reasons for converting a community decision on permanent sysop into a temporary status (and I hope you do so by starting a new policy, and not on an ad-hoc basis). ― Teak 06:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll raise this with the other stewards so I'm not acting unilaterally but time and time again, when the community is very small, when the votes are very few, I've seen other stewards decline to give permanent sysopship, and instead offer a long duration temporary. As of right now, I recuse myself from this matter. Another steward will have to grant or not grant you permanent sysophood, and if they decline to do so, and you eventually take the advice given and ask for a long duration temp, another steward will have to grant it... Do please note that I'm not all by myself here, Spacebirdy, also a steward, has agreed with me and endorsed giving you 3 months temp if you ask for it. ++Lar: t/c 07:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Permanent sysop access is not granted. The community is too small to have permanent sysops. (I know that in former times, stewards granted permanent sysopship/bureaucratship even in such small projects, but since this caused problems on some projects, we will not do that any more.) You can easily get a temp sysopship for (not more than) 6 months and then we will see if there will have grown a big enough community to change the status to permanent. If this is not the case, we will easily extend the temp sysopship for another (maximally) 6 months on request, and so on. If you agree to get temp sysopship, please state for how long you want and we will grant it. Thank you for understanding. @Teak, please note that granting you sysopship on that project was a mistake by me and should also have been done temporarily only. --Thogo (talk) 13:20, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thogo, please do convert my permanent sysop on hy.wikisource to a temporary one (with a period of whatever is a common practice), if you think you've made a mistake. As to this request, I don't deem myself having the right to change the community decision (even if it involves only 2 other users). I'll let the nominated user know about this discussion, and he will hopefully make his own decision about his rights. ― Teak 16:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Changed link--Nick1915 - all you want 16:42, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both. Btw., technically it's no difference between temporary and permanent rights since expiring dates can be extended easily, it's just that we have a possibility to check after a while if everything is alright in the project and to react if not. (The community can do that itself only if it is large enough.) --Thogo (talk) 16:47, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  •  On hold. I see two admins [4] while they have made no edits recently. Please link to your local request and user pages, or I cannot approve your request. Once you make a local request, I will consider the community opinion. Thanks.--Jusjih 01:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I need an answer, please, user Andoromeda supports me to be administrator. --Chabi 14:41, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Chabi, since the community seems to be too small to hold a regular voting, I would suggest You ask for temporary sysop status, it is technically the same, You just check back some days before it expires to prolong it or if the community grows in the meantime, You can hold a regular voting. I would say, lets make 3 months for a start, what do You think? Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 09:17, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
¿Te refieres a que me dejas ser administrador dentro de tres meses o durante tres meses?. --Chabi 17:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning both these requests, you simply voted for each other. If the community is so small that you and Alex1011 are the only two active users on the Latin Wikibooks, then temporary adminship is better. So these requests are Not done, with the option of having temporary adminship instead.--Shanel 20:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, temporary adminship would be useful for housekeeping purposes. Our only administrator (la:b:User:The Doc) has been inactive on the project for several months now, so it would be useful to have active admins available at the project. Alex1011 is by far the most active contributor; I regularly check recentchanges and I am admin on la.wikipedia since 2006. Please grant the two of us temporary adminship. Thanks! --UV 22:19, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Daniel @ Meta

Note: Daniel is an elected admin now.VasilievV 2 04:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The 2008 Board Election Committee has agreed, based on experiences from 2007, that all non-Meta administrators would benefit significantly from having temporary administrator access until the end of the election. To quote Phillipe, who was on the Committee last year and again this year, "Last year during the election, there were times when we needed to protect (or edit protected pages) on meta. Since I wasn't an admin, I often needed to wait for someone else to come along...I should have had them. It would have made life easier". The scope of this temporary adminship, should it be granted, would be actions related to the position of Election Committee member, with no other administrator actions taken outside this scope (obviously).

I contacted Anthere, who initially announced the Committee members on behalf of the Board of Trustees in the Election Committee resolution, and the reply I got was "Yeah, makes sense. You should ask here: [RfP link]. I expect that adminship will be granted without any problems :-)". So, well, I'm posting here :) Cheers, Daniel 23:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

better here: this is not a stewards' issue, please ask to a local 'crat. Thanks--Nick1915 - all you want 23:51, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, I'm a local 'crat and I'll figure out where this needs to get moved to, and move it, I'm promoting based on being a local 'crat, not on being a steward. ++Lar: t/c 23:54, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done temporary grant, till after election, which is scheduled to end June 14 2008. Note, I will do all the other non admins, and list them here too, all temporary till after election. ++Lar: t/c 23:53, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
User:Mark and User:KTC. Sorry about creating headaches with the process concerns :) Daniel 00:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I documented matters here: Meta:Requests_for_adminship#Temporary_Adminships_for_the_rest_of_the_2008_WMF_Board_Election_committee ++Lar: t/c 00:15, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just a note. Philippe was granted for 3 months, so I assume these are as well (or until they no longer need them). Majorly (talk) 00:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't Philippe 6 months? This suggests so. Ours are, apparently. Daniel 00:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... I too thought it was till Sept 16 2008, if I was reading what M7 said at Meta:Requests_for_adminship#Philippe . Which is way past the election actually. I agree they ought to all be the same, and I agree with Majorly, because 3 months actually makes more sense to me, given the election end date. ++Lar: t/c 00:52, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, they should be removed as soon as the election ends, whenever it may be. M7 said that he expected Philippe to ask for removal. Majorly (talk) 00:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Naturally, but the election ends at an unspecified date when the results are announced. it will be just over three months, therefore. Daniel 01:05, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's quite frequent that the election results, counts, Q&A's, translations and so on will carry on for a while. Since all the involved users are well known and capable of duly taking care of their own sysop status, I opted for a quite long duration. --M/ 14:14, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Local Request Link: None[5])
  • Local User Page: b:eu:Lankide:Theklan & b:eu:Lankide:Janfri
  • Preferred duration and reason: There's no local sysop or bureaucrats and some articles must be deleted and main page blocked for preventing vandalism. Both Janfri and Theklan are sysops in eu:wikipedia so we only want to extend this permission as both are now working on expanding this project. We don't have a preferred duration, as there's not a stable community to make elections. When this elections happen we would happily let this other users in their work.

Thank you. Theklan 18:49, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, please can You make a local link nevertheless, I would like to see a local link always also for temp issues, in case someone would like to object. Also Janfri should know about he is going to be made temp-sysop, but I was not able to find any page where he said that or where someone told him. Please just open a local request where You two leave a short note and I would say lets start with a temp-period of 3 months then. The link you provided for local request seems to refer to Kranch. And seeing as (probably) no one here understands Moksha, little help with that page would be nice :) --FiliP × 20:02, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
His name is above the voting of Kranch it seems, one person commented, I had suggested a temporary adminship therefore, see in the regular adminship section, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:43, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I saw that. But if those 5 votes don't refer to this user, there's no reason to give him even temporary status. If these votes do in fact refer to Numulunj pilgae, then fine, he'll get the temp status. But the page is still confusing :) --FiliP × 12:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the confusion on the page. User Kranch was added by another user after all voted for Sura and me. I'd like to edit that but not sure I may edit the election page after elections finished that is why all left as it is. So, may we apply for admin access for Sura and me? Or temporary access? Thank you --Numulunj pilgae 15:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done OK, I saw the page history and the voting does indeed refer to you. I've given you temporary status for three months, that is until September 25, 2008. --FiliP × 15:29, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As for Sura and Kranch... Well, Sura and you had a joined election, while Kranch was added later on. I strongly suggest using separate voting procedures for separate candidates. Since this meta request only referred to you, I didn't promote Sura. --FiliP × 15:32, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Need a piece of advice then. May I edit election page now to avoid future confusions? Or better just to place there explanation and comments?--Numulunj pilgae 08:36, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That is up to you, but I think you should explain what happened here and that in the future, you'll have to hold separate elections. --FiliP × 09:29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I request temporary sysop access on the West Frisian wikibooks.

We have no sysop on the site. Tasks: broken sidebar links, pages in the wrong place to move and delete.

Folks, since I'm the only human who has contributed in the past month is it truly necessary for me to wait a week? (I'm scared to upload pictures on any site with no admin, just in case I mess up and get the wrong copy without adequate copyright info. So I'd have to wait a week on testing/developing a new project I just now started, too.)

Thanks much! Snakesteuben 14:35, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, waiting one week is not necessary (only for permanent sysop requests, in wikis with small communities where others are active as well it is also wise to wait a while to allow the others express their opinion).

Not done, sorry but permanent sysopship is not granted without a community vote. You speak no Tibetian so also I wonder why You would want to edit MediaWiki files, if You want to translate please do it at betawiki: only.
There are other users active on this wiki, so there is no reason not to make also a local request. Maybe also it is better to have a native or someone capable of speaking some being sysop. Thanks, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 20:02, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

alison@gdwiktionary / Scots Gaelic Wiktionary

I request temporary sysop access

Hi. I'm Alison, aka w:en:User:Alison, sysop from gawiki and gawikti. There is currently no sysop over on gdwikti yet there's still a lot of work to do. Similar to gawikti which was dormant last year, I would dearly love to restart this wiktionary as a Scots Gaelic Wiktionary would be an immense asset to native speakers. There is still quite a lot of ongoing vandalism and cruft over there, especially over the last few weeks. Also, I've been updating Mediawiki over there before moving things to Betawiki when I've had them reviewed.

Note that I've already been temporary sysop there three times previously, the last having expired yesterday. Thanks, all :) - Alison 00:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I request temporary sysop access.

  • Language Code: sw
  • List of local sysops: (none, except I think Dubaduba, not active)
  • List of local bureaucrats: (none)
  • Local User Page: sw:User:Robert Ullmann
  • Preferred duration and reason: 3-6 months, (translate interface), maintain, try to find some users

As "Muddyb" observes, previous has expired, and we do want to work on it; I have a couple of other contributors now ;-) I live in Nairobi, I hear and use Swahili every day; I want to try to build this.

Thank you. Robert Ullmann 09:07, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On hold Hello Robert Ullmann, please may I ask You to translate the interface at betawiki: only. Also I would like to see a local announcement because at least one of the other sysop appears in the recent changes. Many thanks for Your understanding, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 07:14, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's why (translate i/f) is in parens, I have done the basics via betawiki (with your help), more to do; Mohammed (Muddyb) is very concerned (see blast on wikimusi:Ongea last Nov about not having i/f in Kiswahili ;-). But do note, without criticizing him, please! : he has no NS:0 edits (except wikt:sw:Watu which isn't the correct caps, I am NOT knocking this!), while I and my sister(in-law) and my semi-automation have created almost all NS:0 content, and our team is set to do a lot more after the Kenyatta University exams are complete. I need to edit monobook/common css/js for template support, etc. Looking forward to working with Muddyb, Swahili in Kenya/Nairobi and Tanzania/Dar are different (in TZ it is the official language, in KE the vernacular ;-) And so on ... I did very much like you signing "ndege" on sw.wikt ... we also have one b'crat rename request: should that go here somewhere? Robert Ullmann 23:39, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All right, just wanted to make sure translations are not made locally :)
Sounds all great to me, I see You have already been temp sysop several times. I therefore granted You 6 months this time.
@renames, please put that on Steward requests/Username changes
(I hope 'ndege' is correct :) )

The community is still very small, so temporary admin permissions might be better. Would you agree to a six-month temporary adminship? You can hold another vote then if you think the community is sufficiently larger, or come back in 6 month's time to request another temporary adminship term.--Shanel 03:30, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the last activity is marked on may...it had been put for closure but i motivated the position of this wiki. it's a long term project; there is a lack of contribution but things are going ahead.i'm looking for contributions and documents, medias freely available, distribuable or donations for the library :-); i do think things will go better when all needed translations will be done (availability for wiktionary, wikiquote and wikversity); closing them is a heavy damage for our emerging language.
i'm yet an administrator (for 2 periods yet :-), 6 months ago ) Masterches 12:53, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
@ht.s: See Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Haitian Creole Wikisource and bugzilla:13967, please consider to contribute to oldwikisource until there is some activity to revive that project. The articles are then not lost, but can be imported easily.
@ht.w: I see, You have temp-status on ht.wiki still, I would suggest 6 months this time then. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 13:25, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, allrights; i continue my contributions, notably to translations; that's not easy, there's so much to say and to do and so little contributions for a community larger than 15 millions haitian creole spoken persons (Haiti-Canada-USA ..etc) ,that's a pity; but things are going ahead. thank you Masterches 13:34, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done (ht.wikipedia) expires: 12-12-2008, I have removed Your temporary rights on ht.wikisource, since it makes no sense, it is not possible to edit there right now, please consider to contribute to old wikisource until the project can be revived, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 09:21, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dsvyas@gu.wiki

I request sysop access.

I have been the only active Sysop on gu.wiki for last 4-5 months, I have been granted temp admin rights twice in past (first time 1.5 month and then 3 months). As the community is very small, there is not enough voting on the nomination page, but still I could get 4 votes in my favor. Community is growing day by day, when I started there were hardly 400 pages, now within this 4-5 months, we have crossed 1000 pages, this is I think because of my active participation as well as other User's contributions. I would appreciate if you could grant me permanent Admin rights on the basis of 4 votes (all in favor), as the community is small and number of contributors is even law.

Thank you. DhavalTalk 11:32, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dhaval, what do You think about a 6 months period this time, as You said the community still is small and I think when it grows there can be of course held voting, what do You think, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 16:52, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Birdy, I don't mind having 6 months (once again temp), but don't want to get fed up with this repeatedly asking for access, as you can see there is no other Admin than me active for more than last 6 months, in this case, I don't know what can be the constraint for not granting permanent ADmin with 4 votes, I remember, last time I was told that as the community is small, even if i coudl get 5 votes, I'll get Permanent, and 4 is much more close to 5. Have a think on it and let me know. I would rather after 6 months give up asking for extension if the only reason for temp is that the community is small.--DhavalTalk 17:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Dhaval, the last thing I want to is to fed You up. Please understand this is only to prevent problems in growing communities we have seen in the past. I would like to propose You, lets make it temp for 6 months this time and after six months if everything is fine and the voting has not changed or change to Your favor lets make it permanent, could You agree to that without giving up? --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 17:44, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I must agree Birdy, my frined. After all, somethign si better than nothing. Much appreciated your offer, I think by then the community must expand, hope to get things in my favor, or else at least someother admin's favor. Thanks once again for granting it for 6 months.--DhavalTalk 20:37, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done Ok, great, I added a note to the rightslog, that You can get permanent status after the 6 months if the voting does not change or changes to Your favor. date of checking back for permanent status: 13-12-2008, best regards, and thanks for Your work there! --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 16:19, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I request for temporary sysop access.

Thank you. Putera Luqman Tunku Andre 06:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you, please, provide us with a link to the request page on your wiki? A link to your userpage isn't much revealing. There needs to be a community consensus if you wish to obtain administrator status. Thanks --FiLiP ¤ 11:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There's not any community. No comunity, no vote. That's why I join wikibooks ms. Putera Luqman Tunku Andre 12:50, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Then maybe you should consider getting temporary status, until the community begins slowly building up. I cannot, in good faith, give you access without any support from fellow wikibookians. Thank you --FiLiP ¤ 12:54, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Err, does 1 person counts as a community? I've been ms-wikibooks most frequent and sole contributor for months and I don't know anything about this. How come a new user suddenly gets a sysop status for 1 year? Don't you guys check recent changes first? ...Aurora... 10:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, according to Steward_handbook#Temporary_rights it was not totally wrong to promote him. 12 months was too much, that's true, but there was no local sysop, and he wants to help out. That this is not backed by the community was not evident. … I'd recommend him to start a voting on b:ms (I'll leave a message on his user talk page). If he fails I'd remove his rights. Kind regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:54, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't contesting the promotion, only the duration. Steward_handbook#Temporary_rights also said "Six months is probably too much". Anyway, we'll see if a voting can be carried out first. ...Aurora... 10:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry late reply...too much work...but my heart still in wiki...ops, maybe I'm new user but I have experience in MsWikipedia(only 3 month). The policy to be sysop in Mswikibooks are 3 days after create account/first edit and have 10 and above editLook here.
