| Description | Stadsdriehoek. Hoogstraat The Central Library is shaped like a cube with a cut off corner, a glass 'waterfall' where the escalators are located that connect the six floors.. These declining levels offer space to approximately 250,000 books in an open setting. Arch. Jaap Bakema 1977-83. Twenty years after completion, the largest and busiest public library in the Netherlands was extensively renovated internally by Van den Broek and Bakema and Van Velzen La Feber Bonheur architects. |
