Skanwiki-kategorisering

Bjarte 01:05, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Candidate statements

I regret you broke up links on Anthere's statement. At first you didn't need to replace it internal link to external in my opinion. I hope you don't bother nor candidates nor us anymore. Thanks. --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 17:41, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I changed external links to internal… The reason I did was that those arrows marking the links as external IMO were disturbing, especially where only the two-letter codes were the only link text, as it made it difficult to read. If it was an ill deed of me, you probably know how to revert… ;-) Jon Harald Søby (talk, contrib) 14:45, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Removing votes

Please do not remove votes from the Wikinews/Start a new edition page. Although these votes are from users who do not currently have a meta user page, this does not necessarily make them completely invalid in tallying. Allow the vote tallying persons to handle determining what are valid votes, please. - Amgine 05:45, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'm happy to be able to announce the creation of Wikinytt! Congratulations! - Amgine / talk meta news

(And I snagged user #1)

That's great! I just registered, and will be working on it tomorrow (not today; today I have to read for a physics test I have tomorrow; 50 pages to read). Jon Harald Søby 06:56, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

FEMA wiki

Jon - Thanks for your note about the FEMA wiki. I have closed off future edits to the FEMA site, which is too bad. I didn't set up the site, and thought I appreciate those who did, I wish they would respond to my e-mail. I have the capacity to run a tighter site, but no permissions. Don't want to hack my colloboraotors, have to move on, but the people who are hurt, 1K+ readers per day! Thanks for the message. Castellanet 08:28, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Stewardship

Congratulations Jon! You've been appointed a new Steward of the Wikimedia projects. Please remember to read the Steward policies and abide to them. Also, please add yourself to Stewards#List of stewards and the languages they speak. If you'll need any help with the Steward interface (under Special:Makesysop), please contact me on my talk page. Thank you for the status on the Breton wiki. How is it going to delete and protect pages ? Where are the pages explaining the process ? --Fulup 12:43, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi! You can see a guide on the English Wikipedia w:Wikipedia:Administrators' how-to guide. It's really simple. Jon Harald Søby 12:46, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Admin Abuse

Jon Harald, A group of editors and admins refuse to allow a balance of material and links. Gamaliel, Robert McClenon, Jpgordon, JamesMLane, and a few others now own the pages. Any attempts to modify the page is met by thier gang edits. They allow only links to pro kennedy sites, none to negative sites regardless of the wealth of content they may provide. They push their pov on all of the Kennedy pages. It's because of editors and admins like these that Wikipedia is doubted as a source. ie; the New York Times published policy against Wiki as a source. The group refuses to agree to consensus when it is against them. I've now been blocked by Jpgordon in an abuse of admin priv. My act was not vandalism, it's simply not agreeing with their one sided pov. I am not willing to endure any more arb or mediation. These guys are out of control. 24.147.103.146 05:45, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I'm a bit in the blue right now… Where did this happen? On the English Wikipedia? Also, have you tried asking them for why they did what they did (eventually in an email or something, if you are blocked)? Jon Harald Søby 07:38, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Deleted article

Sorry to bother, it seems to me that Remzi Gokdag might have been User:Remrem's "out of place" bio, so I changed "delete" to "rfd" and was considering to move the page under the proper space. I've seen you've deleted and it may be also a good choice, but I just wanted to share my view. Thank you, M/ 15:32, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay. It was tagged with delete when I pressed the delete button, so I guess your edit came between that and the actual delete. I'll restore the page and move it to User:Remrem. Jon Harald Søby 15:33, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Radouch

You wrote you like to understand Radouch's behaviour. It's now more than a year struggle. Some English remarks are here: User:Vít Zvánovec/My defence. -- Vít Zvánovec 16:26, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

His explanation triggered my curiousity; I know nothing of anyone's behaviour, and thus can't understand it… Jon Harald Søby 16:33, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is very complicated issue – something like Waerth case. Unfortunaly most materials are only in Czech, except for Requests for comments/Cswiki issues and Requests for comments/Cswiki issues 2. -- Vít Zvánovec 09:35, 6 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

@Jon: I think I cannot agree with Vít Zvánovec that it is very complicated issue: it seems quite plain to me. I wrote a short statement here - maybe it will satisfy your curiosity :-) --Radouch 21:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser

Hi, I translate the following request made in my talk page in Spanish. As it's a request for checkuser at the Spanish Wikipedia, I shall not process it myself. Could you please handle this. --Ascánder 20:34, 18 February 2006 (UTC) Translation: User es:Usuario:Maldoror request an IP check of an anonymous user because of a flame war against user McFinnigan on pages Irlanda and Donegal. es:Usuario:Edub has blocked users es:Usuario:Seanver and es:Usuario:Blisz. And here is a discussion about it: Aquí. The IP user is 80.34.52.128, and because of it's behavior, it seems to be one of the previously mentioned blocked users. Maldoror 17:48, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I'll look into it. What should I do if the IP matches any of the users? (And what if it doesn't?) Jon Harald Søby 20:37, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just answer the question to Maldoror and also probably to es:Usuario:Edub which is a sysop. They'll take from there. --Ascánder 20:50, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

The 6800 edit rule

Hello,

A few days ago you changed the 5000 limit to 6800 [1]. A user asked a question about that on Talk:Right to vanish. I wish I could give the answer myself, but I have to say I have no clue about this. I'd be glad if you would provide some explanation. Theo F 12:37, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's now up to 20 000! (That means, if it keeps rising, I can finally change my name on w:no: from Jhs to Jon Harald Søby!) Jon Harald Søby 19:27, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
