Revision as of 10:12, 17 January 2021
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Global rollback for 蟲蟲飛
- Global user: 蟲蟲飛 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 16 January 2021 13:58 UTC
Hello! I am May. I am an administrator on the zhwiki and a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team. I always use SWViewer to revert vandalism. (my global contribution) I would like to contribute more so that I request global rollback permission which helps me revert vandalism effectly. Thank you!--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 13:58, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I've seen that you active sometimes on SWViewre. I've looked at your edits on 20-30 wikis randomly. On some of these wikis and other wikis, edits are renamer processes generally. You have undone edits on Chinese, Japanese and English projects generally. But I have seen on Wikidata that you are constantly undo each other's edits with users from Chinese wiki projects. (ex: Iokseng, Ellery, HenryXVII) [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] Normally, I (or us as global rollbackers) use undo/rollback against vandals and destructive edits on small wikis continuously. A few days after you delete a page, other users open the same pages. Or other admins undelete to these pages. These edits' copies on Wikidata seems edit wars according to edits of other users or admins, or deletion and page deletion, page creation logs on Chinese Wikipedia. But I'm not quite sure. Since I can't speak Chinese, I can't fully understand the situation. I would like you explain this situation. --Uncitoyentalk 14:56, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- I am admin when I delete a page on zhwiki the page in wikidata will change at the same time.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:12, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- After few days some pages what you delete, other admins undelete for these pages. ex: [7] Is it a problem between you and other users or are you doing these in accordance with the rules? I guess you delete empty categories etc per logs, but after a few days other users open the same category. These situations that I don't understand. --Uncitoyentalk 15:24, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- In fact,I do not edit in wikidata, all the edit in wikidata is as a result of CSD,AFD or DRV in zhwiki. The users can recreate a page after csd if the page is not protected.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:27, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- I know it, and when I first looked I saw these edits/logs like a edit war on Wikidata for me. If your actions are within the rules, there is no problem. --Uncitoyentalk 15:38, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- The admins on zhwiki delete a page must within the rules. And admins cannot involve in edit war, otherwise will be blocked.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

- Do note that this user only meta edits is to this application, there isn't any participation in xwiki anti abuse work etc, as well as they are blocked in zhwp. Gr =/= wikipedia rollbacker, there are 730 projects involved. Ability to recognize abuse is more important, though kindness is important too but isn't the key here. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:52, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Weak oppose You have really good admin stats in the Chinese Wikipedia (I am also a Chinese Wikipedian), but GR needs lots of cross-wiki anti-vandalism experience. I have seen that almost all your cross-wiki activities are renaming username. --Matttest (talk) 03:47, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think I am too active in renaming so that everyone cannot see I revert vandalism in different wikis every day.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 04:38, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Global_renamers/Stats is a good reference to see how active someone in Global renaming. 140 renames are done by them since they had the rights in like say not sure when. How does it compare to other renamers? Not sure, not a renamer myself. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:55, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- @蟲蟲飛 Just to be sure, is it June last year you had the rights? Make sure I am having the correct information. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:57, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

as a 5 months old accounthave (and I don't see any xwiki experience you had), I am sure that @蟲蟲飛 had more crosswiki experience than you in reverting vandalism etc.Yours is 0 experience.Just a note. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 10:00, 12 January 2021 (UTC)- Strike per talk, I am just pointing out the difference in experience, might sound harsh, I didn't mean it. Apologies. - Neutral Thanks for your explanations on the subjects what I didn't understand very well. Since you didn't receive warnings or blocks from relevant users on Chinese Wikipedia, you are acting according to the rules. As I said, your cross-wiki activity isn't too bad, but there could be a little more. Regards. --Uncitoyentalk 07:34, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

- Neutral Per Uncitoyen + Nadzik, I seen guc, seems to start reverting only from 23 Dec, @蟲蟲飛: Correct me if I am wrong. I mean active reverting. It's just 12 Jan here, 2-3 weeks of reverting. As my usual standards, I typically hope to see people revert for 2-3 months before supporting. While that being said, I didn't see much errors in reverting. I agree it's quite early for this but I don't oppose as I didn't see any errors. Not supporting is that the short duration (i.e. truly there is some experience, but not the level we typcally ask for GRs). Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:22, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Willing to reconsider if there are older period of crosswiki reverting, so if I am mistaken do point it out. Thanks. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:37, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- I seen an odd revert, nothing wrong but why the candidate used chinese edit summary on dewp, I will say this can be confusing to the local users who may puzzle what is exactly going on? Try to use English summaries each time. Thank you for volunteering. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 17:14, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

- Answering questions isn't that important anyway, the real need for the tool is what that is important. And quoting from GR page it is "For consideration, users must be demonstrably active in cross-wiki countervandalism or anti-spam activities (for example, as active members of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team) and make heavy use of revert on many wikis, ... providing evidence of this.". What I noticed in this RFGR is that there are many users who aren't involved in crosswiki reversion work coming here to support, I think this is due to the fact that the user is a sysop on zhwp and people deemed them as trusted per zhwp standards. However, this is a global userright and as the instructions state "Please note that global rollbacker discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.", what will be useful from these comments is how the candidate is suitable to hold Global rollback, which mean plainly how the candidate meet the requirements in the GR page for GR. Having said that we typically allow everyone to participate in these !votes but the trend is a little out of the norms for GR applications. Nevertheless, we of course welcome external inputs as this shouldn't be a small-circle voting. For neutral voters like me, what will be useful if the supporters can produce evidence of the heavy use of reverts...active in anti-spams on many wikis, this will then sway me to support and help in determining the consensus. Just my 2 cents but I had to point this out here. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 18:20, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Neutral Anti-vandalism activity on the x-wiki still seems to be low, I think. But she's a trusted user, so she's okay to get a chance. --mirinano (talk) 18:28, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Per GUC, not much xwiki anti-vandalism activity --Wim b 18:43, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

- Could you provide any evidence to prove? Do you remember you gave me Anti-Vandalism Barnstar recently which you said my admin action has done very well?--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 16:52, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- I reject your reality and substitute my own.—Subscriptshoe9 (talk) 13:44, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

- Support Willing to give you a chance despite others' comments being valid. It's not ideal, but not to the extent of an instant rejection. Leaderboard (talk) 10:23, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Neutral They are surely trusted, but I see lack of crosswiki activity for now. Maybe patrol small wikis for another 1-2 months and you will be good to go. On a side note, you don't need to reply to every comment as you are doing. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 03:56, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Global sysop for Uncitoyen
- Global user: Uncitoyen (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 29 January 2021 20:33 UTC
Hello everyone. I have been contributing to different Wikimedia projects for 10 years. For the last year, my free time has increased due to Covid-19, so I generally started to contribute more to wiki projects. Since 2014, I have had admin experiences on different wiki projects (Turkish Wikinews, Turkish Wikisource, Wikimedia Turkey, Turkish Wiktionary). I have been an administrator on Turkish Wikipedia for 5 years and have been a checkuser for the last year there. I'm a global renamer for the last 6 months. Before I became a global renamer, I did cross-wiki activity on 290 wikis as far as I was calculated. Although this number isn't more than 350 wikis at the moment, I think it is close to this number. Maybe these numbers may be small for someones, because these are subjective. But for the last 6 months, I have been trying to make requests on the SRG and global sysop requests. Generally I tried to keep my cross-wiki activity balanced. I have been serving as a Meta-admin for 2 weeks. Also I am 6th non-global sysop user have the most edits for the last 10 months, since Global sysops/Requests was opened. See: [8] My cross-wiki activity has decreased a little over the last month because my real life, but it won't cause a huge inactivity. Last year and this year, some global sysops were also removed per inactivity policy as usual. I think this year I will be more helpful for other global sysops and small wikis with the effect of the pandemic. 2FA is open already. Thanks for your comments and questions. --Uncitoyentalk 20:33, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Global rename for Waggers
- Wiki: meta.wikimedia.org (list 'crats • bot policy • summary • 'crats rights)
- User: Waggers (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 28 January 2021 13:37 UTC
I have been an administrator on the English language Wikipedia for nearly 14 years and an active contributor to several other Wikimedia projects. On en-wp I frequently patrol the Usernames for Admin Attention (UAA) board. On that project we have many users who subsequently request an unblock and rename, following action taken at UAA. I would like to be a global renamer so that I can assist with that backlog of unblock requests, renaming users and granting unblocks where appropriate, as an extension to the work I do at UAA. Waggers (talk) 13:37, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support Seems trusted, enwp sysop, per my usual standards that GR should be given to large / medium wiki sysops upon request (I don't mind bundle it with their toolkit) who is in good standing (prima facie I don't see any issues, willing to be corrected) and is active (seen their contribs, relatively okay in recent activity). GR isn't a big deal anyway for such cases. Since they are making username blocks, this is welcomed as it reduces work for other renamers, thank you for volunteering. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:47, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Strong support Waggers is an admin on English Wikipedia for 14 years. I think Waggers is very successful. The blocks that he/she gives for inappropriate usernames and his/her contributions on UAA are also clear. I am sure he/she will be a good job, especially with requests for the English Wikipedia. Good luck. --Uncitoyentalk 15:21, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support easily meets my criteria. --IWI (talk) 16:05, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- One question I want to ask is whether there is a shortage of global renamers that causes difficulty in this user's case. Leaderboard (talk) 17:03, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Leaderboard, good question. Arguably not; at the time of writing there are 93 requests for unblock on en-wp, 13 of which include a request to change the username on unblocking. Of those, all bar one have had some kind of response and that one was only requested earlier today, so actually we're doing quite well at responding to those requests. However there's a difference between responding to a request to check that a user understands why they were blocked and why a change in username is necessary, and being able to action that once they have demonstrated that understanding, and I'd like to be able to help out with the latter - but it's not a disaster if I can't. Hello, I'm CU, 'crat, admin and oversight in Persian Wikipedia (and have been admin for 12 years now), also have been global renamer since its inception (in 2015 IIRC). I'm also helping Wikimedia in technical spaces in my volunteer capacity (trying to keep track of them in here) and would like to have the right to help clean up deprecated js/css or fix performance and security issues in small wikis. For example, currently phab:T72470 but stuff like that comes up a lot. Hope that'd be okay for you. Amir (talk) 21:31, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
