Global rollback for Wikitanvir
- Global user: Wikitanvir (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi, I'm asking for global rollback privileges. I am an active cross-wiki vandal and spam fighter, and doing this job for quite some times. GR privileges will speed this task. I am a sysop on Bengali Wikipedia and Wiktionary and also on Commons. I use #cvn-swconnect and #cvn-sw-spamconnect to track recent changes and take care of unwanted edits, and also available on many Wikimedia channels. Thanks for your consideration. — [ Tanvir | Talk ] 17:18, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Global rollback for Hydriz
- Global user: Hydriz (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi, I am here to request for Global Rollback. I believe I have attained the requirements of getting it as I have done many Countervandalism undo-es and have rollback on the Simple English Wikipedia, Simple English Wiktionary and sysop on Wikimedia Strategic Planning. I monitor 15 CVN channels, especially #cvn-sw so I believe getting Global Rollback is very useful for me. Thanks. --Hydriz 09:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Aye. — [ Tanvir | Talk ] 09:43, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Support I've seen him reverting vandalism on different projects (for example commons, nlwp) and therefore I trust him with this tool. (in answer to this) Trijnstel 09:48, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- No - Sorry, it's not even been one week since you received this warning about the correct use of rollback. Sorry, not now. Doing this on wikis where you are not known, you may end up in getting a block there which would be not very helpful. Sorry, just not now. -Barras 13:17, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Comment I would like to clarify this issue. I accidentally clicked on rollback as I saw the text "Superscript text". As my screen isn't very big (its a small laptop), I totally couldn't see the paragraph below. You may say it is a misuse, but I believe it is a technical issue. However, on CVN, I undo edits by checking everything. If I have doubts, I don't do the revert. Hydriz 14:31, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Neutral Thank you for your contributions and please review what you did. You can become better in the future. Keep going! --Waihorace 14:03, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Support, I don't think that he is going to abuse the rights, furthermore he is always friendly, so why not ;) - Hoo man (talk) 14:36, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Neutral - Per trust concerns brought up in your request for gb editinterface, sorry. Ajraddatz (Talk) 14:54, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Never You cannot deny that Hydriz is making this request for the right reasons, however, quite frankly, I don't trust him with any rights locally at Simple English WP and, therefore, find it unbelievable that he has even considered applying for global rights, even with the validity of the reasoning for the request. Why? Well, for a number of reasons. Firstly, Hydriz continued to use his bot at Simple without approval despite being given numerous warnings to stop. As a result it is now blocked, and the user has made no attempt to appeal this, presumably meaning he sees it's perfectly legitimate (Which it is.). He also "takes over" a community area without a consensus and in clear violation of en:WP:OWN. Other diffs [1], [2], [3], [4] (And with a further follow-up to his signature [5]) and [6]. The most recent incident, particularly related to the rollback tool, has already been outlined by Barras above, and I find all the 'excuses' being made by Hydriz for this error to be somewhat flimsy and not give a particularly good understanding of the tool or the rules surrounding it. There are other diffs available. In short: granting the flag is completely inappropriate and the user hasn't got the trust levels from me for it. Others may disagree, though, but I just have a bad feeling if this was to be approved. And yes, a large part of this oppose is copy and pasted from his request for global edit-interface, because it is still completely relevant. BG7 19:15, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- Comment More of my bad edits to help BG7 here:
[7] [8] [9] And a block log regarding a violation of usernames over a WikiProject: [10] Please do not ask me why I am doing this, but if you really want to know, send me an email (I might not reply you if I choose to) Hydriz 07:35, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. Per above. You do good work, but I don't think you're ready for GR just yet. Keep up the good work and come back in a few months. -FASTILY (TALK) 23:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for User:MMuzammils
- Global user: MMuzammils (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Greetings, I would like to request permanent exemption from global IP blocks, for the following reasons.
- I'm based in the United Arab Emirates, there is a telecoms duopoly here; both telecoms providers pass all Internet traffic through transparent proxies, as mandated by UAE’s telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA). I have no other legal choice.
- Because of the restricted Internet freedoms, I use a paid VPN service to bypass these blocks and in some cases edit Wikipedia (because my public shared IP was blocked by Wikimedia) via this VPN service, as the IP ranges blocked were too extensive.
- My quality of edits: WikiChecker
- Note: Unfortunately some religious or other Wikipedia articles are selectively blocked by the ISPs (government) here, and I have no choice but to use my paid VPN to get those articles. My VPN provider uses some servers which are classified as open proxies or anonymous proxies by Wikimedia. I'm pretty sure that's where I might get stuck again :-)
- Note: Wikipedia admin User:Shell Kinney just granted me IP exemption (sans anonymous proxies) for Wikipedia and Commons projects.
I have managed to work around these blocks over the past 5 years of editing, but lately they’re getting too aggressive and have started to frustrate and deter me from making contributions. Considering my contributions and clean record over the years, I hope my request will be granted to edit with my registered account including over anonymous proxies. Thanks--MMuzammils 17:16, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Comment - Please note that this right only exempts you from global blocks - any local blocks will still apply, and you'll need to request local ipbe on those wikis. Ajraddatz (Talk) 17:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- I see no problem with granting this. The reason is valid, and the user (with 10k global edits and a clean block log) can be trusted not to abuse the privilege for disruptive editing. Jafeluv 18:08, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
