This page holds approved requests for temporary permissions until they expire. Please add new requests on the request page and not here.

Stewards: please do not archive these requests until all temporary rights have been removed. Please move them to the latest archive (linked in the request page's header) after processing. The requests are ordered by the date of removal. Please state the date in bold text at the bottom of the section for ease of processing.

If you remove or extend global rights, please add in bold extended or removed, so the bot knows what can be archived.

Not all global rights changes (such as global IP block exempts) are notified here; please watch Special:Log/gblrights to see them all.

I ran for TKWIKI administratorship on the 23rd of July. A week ago. No objection raised. I want to establish rule of law on Turkmen Wikipedia and am currently translating Wiki guidelines and policies as we do not have anybody to form ours. We have almost no one to vote. Turkmen Wikipedia has too many flaws, please grant me administratorship so that I can establish a system there. Why should you grant it? 1) I will administrate the site according to the policies, worst system is better than no system. If we establish a system, people may be encouraged to participate in Turkmen wiki. Lack of system maybe discouraging. 2) I intend to use social media to ask for help and participation for certian important topics. 3) I am creating and locating needed templates which may encourage participation. 4) There are too many unencyclopedic article on Turkmen wiki, if you can check my contribution that include the {{delete}} template, you will see I have requested too many delete requests on the last week itself. Please grant me the admin rights on the Xitsonga wiki. Discussion on the local wiki was posted on 2nd August, still no objection. Although knowing that ts_wiki is very small and thus admin rights are temporary but I want it for the longest duration possible. Hello Matiia, some voters are students from Otapi High school, and they are contributing during computer courses, this is why you see less than 50 contribs + courses starts again in January. This community are doing edit-a-thons every 2 weeks, and in a previous request, some Stewards proposed this Wiki should have permanent admins instead of me bureaucrat. So I asked them to have a vote that last for more than one month + have youngters to vote. I rather have these 3 leaders manage their wiki and be autonomous, than me making requests here all the time, because they don't speak English. I hope this explain the situation. This project has restarted on 19 January 2017 and re-opened on 5 July 2017. The local regulation that became active again provided in permanent administrators, as it had been open yet for a longer time (the original start was on 28 January 2005). The community yet elected me for a permanent adminship in July and now I have been re-elected (reconfirmed) again. The motivation in July to grant an adminship of six months instead of a permanent one, was as follows:

"Given the situation, I personally would recommend a six-month starting term, which is at the longer end of usual practice for administrators in new wikis. Once the community becomes a little more established in its own subdomain, you and they can figure out what the proper term should be. The community has become 'a little more established' now indeed, in fact it has become a really established project where a lot of people are contributing. The following examples should underline that a permanent adminship is valid now as the project has shown to be established:

1. This Wikinews is very active in comparison to other Wikinews' where they have permanent adminships as well (link to: new pages, recent changes). On an average of the past half year it has been more active than English Wikinews. Only Wikinews in Portuguese, Russian and Arab languages are more/equal active.
2. At the moment of the reopening from the incubator, four people contributed. Meanwhile there have been dozens to edit our project. At least (I may have forgotten some) twelve people wrote (many) new articles ([4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]).
3. Next to that we have people that don't write articles but give support in cleaning up regularly. Two of them are very active ([16][17]).
4. The Nl.Wikipedia community just closes a poll whether there should be linked from Wikipedia to sister projects. Despite it's a critical project, a majority voted to keep on being connected with the sister projects. There has been voted for Nl.Wikinews as wel with a majority of 43 (of 75) votes (link).
5. There are some more things that have shown me in the last half year that Nl.Wikinews is being adopted in the society and by the media. It's hard to give solid evidence (links) for that.

So I hope the project may be granted permanent adminships now and that my adminship will be converted to a permanent one. I think it is fair enough to follow up the words of July last that the project would be granted permanent adminships when it has proven itself to be an established one. Only one is inactive. Romaine is still active (on Wikidata for us and with his bot and delete log - we abandoned press releases). Who knows him, knows he won't go. The voting system still needs a reform, that's why only three (exclusive of me) have voting rights. This rule still needs a reform. Please take into account that we are very active (see the sum of my list here above: that is not "little more established" but very much established - that was agreed half year ago). And please regard that there is not any binding of anybody of Meta with nl.wikinews and insofar no need that the supervision should be effectuated from here. Dutch Wikinews is a small project compared with Wikipedia NL. But WikinewsNL is at the same size (somethimes even bigger) of other NL-sisterprojects who have permanent admins. I would ask also to appoint bureaucrats. With currently 0 bureaucrats it takes a long time to install a bot because of the waiting period on Meta. A Wikinews project must be fast and dynamic, because it is a news project - completely different than other Wikiprojects with no time pressure. The procedure that we have to do here and on our local wiki - each 6 months - is time that is lost in the creation of articles and the further expansion of the project. I agree with the request for permanent adminship, but if that is not possible I would like ask to appoint Ymnes bureaucratic presence of 6 months. (as a sort of compromise). Thanks for the compliment for being well as a bureaucrat too. However, the voting and this application are about permanent adminship. "Inactive users" was a bizarre remark for a news website and we aren't even a real new project (in fact it yet exists since 2005). Half a year ago we were given the objective to make the project a "little more established". We did much more than that, and against all odds the project is doing very well. It would feel very unfair and unrewarding when we were imposed a new set of rules here, different from what was formulated half a year ago. I'm pleased to report that my main objective—curbing the aggressive, persistent, and vigorous vandalism and harassment that had been plaguing the Bulgarian projects at the time—has been successfully achieved. Being also a sysop on bgwiki (for 6 years now), bgwikt (2 years), bgquote (6 months), and bgbooks (3 months), this goal has also been met on all these projects, preventing the vandals from jumping from one wiki to another. Needless to say, this success is not a product that you deliver once and forever. The old vandals continue testing whether they can slip through, and new ones will always emerge. Hence why I'd like to ask for an extension of my sysop rights on bgsource. As always, my commitment to the anti-vandalism efforts is long-term, so I (and obviously my colleagues too) will appreciate a longer term extension: if not permanent, then hopefully for at least a year, so that people aren't bothered to repeat their votes too often.

I've been an administrator of this project since June 2016 on a temporary base, because we only have a small community who is contributing infrequently. I think, there should be at least one local sysop to do the job of observing and blocking vandalism and SPAM.

In addition to my contributions to keep this project alive, I would like to continue with importing, maintaining and updating scripts used by the translation editor, an activity that requires administrator rights too.
