Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

Request for MassMessage senders

Hello there, I would like to request for MassMessage senders status for the following accounts: Athikhun.suw and Karto1. This is to have a channel to promote Wiki Science Competition 2021 in Thailand, particularly to previous participants from Wiki Science Competition 2017 in Thailand, via Special:MassMessage. Thank you in advance for considering. --Karto1 (talk) 04:40, 23 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Karto1 Hello, can I have a sample MMS message and the list of recipients. And how long shall we grant? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:49, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Camouflaged Mirage The sample MMS message can be seen here Talk:WSC 2021-TH/MMS, and the list of recipients is here WSC 2021-TH/MMS. We would like to ask for the status for at least 3 months starting in November 2021. --Karto1 (talk) 07:36, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Karto1 Am I right is all to be delivered to commons userpages? Since is 1 wiki, is there any chance to ask at COM:AN for MMS help. Anyway, I will defer to another sysop to grant as I am not too sure of commons MMS policies. There are plenty of meta sysops who are also commons sysops, so won't be too long for this to be reviewed. Mass deletion of duplicated translation pages

Because of a bug, many translation pages were not moved when I move some translatable pages. I have created them again in their new location, but now I need some help to remove their old duplicates. Can a sysop remove the following ones, please?

Doing... Sgd. —Hasley 16:00, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Pols12, leaving aside for the moment as those pages are still widely transcluded and will need to be replaced first (some of them have been broken). I also have concerns about the attribution of copied translations, and would prefer a second opinion from someone else. Sgd. —Hasley 16:37, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After reviewing, I indeed missed 6 pages which are now fixed (I created missing redirects).
For these 3 pages, translations have not been copied but created by a null-edit. This is not an ideal solution to keep attribution, but this is much more simple from a technical point of view. Attribution are kept in Translations: namespace. -- Pols12 (talk) 17:22, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Sgd. —Hasley 17:33, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are meta pages meant to serve as incubator pages?

The title says most of what I'm going to say, but I stumbled across pages like Wiki Bíblia/Gênesis and random Bible verses in Brazilian Portuguese created by Leonardo José Raimundo. Do meta pages serve as incubator pages until such projects are accepted in the incubator? I've never seen this kind of material on meta before, but I don't exactly know how these work so don't know. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 10:44, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SHB2000 Clearly incubator pages needs to be transwiki there, let me @Sotiale and Minorax: for advice. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:48, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
AFAIK, for a page to be considered "in scope" in incubator, it has to be an approved project (wp, wikt, ...) and of a approved language. The above page is not an approved project and is considered out of scope there. @MF-Warburg: should be able to clarify on this. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:57, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If that's actually the Bible, it may not be appropriate to import it into incubatorwiki. mulws acts as an incubator for Wikisource. Before that.. it is appropriate for page imports to be done according to the user's request. Previously imported pages proceeded as requested. --Sotiale (talk) 13:09, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Minorax@Sotiale for replies, understood that it might not be in scope for incubator. But IMHO is also out scope here, delete? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:12, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done, blocked and locked. Can you please inform the WMF? Trijnsteltalk 11:48, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Trijnstel, I emailed ca@WMF as part of the rename request & again to inform them of this block request. Thanks for the quick response. I'll go delete his hoax userpage from enwiki now. Cabayi (talk) 11:52, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
