Letter petitioning WMF to reverse recent decitions

The Wikimedia Foundation recently created a new feature, "superprotect" status. The purpose is to prevent pages from being edited by elected administrators -- but permitting WMF staff to edit them. It has been put to use in only one case: to protect the deployment of the Media Viewer software on German Wikipedia, in defiance of a clear decision of that community to disable the feature by default, unless users decide to enable it.

Question about the Board minutes

[copied from User talk:Pundit] Hi Dariusz, could you please look into the issue of which Board meeting approved the 2015–2016 budget of $2,445,873 for the Knowledge Engine/Discovery? (See grant application, p. 9, which says the budget obtained Board approval.)

• Hi Sarah, regarding the budget, it is clearly within the focus of the Audit Committee (the Governance Committee is basically for board composition, good practices, etc.). I was not a member of the Board if the grant was discussed in the summer. I will ask as well. Pundit (talk) 15:27, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Dariusz, thanks for the reply. I've copied my question here to keep the discussion in one place. I was thinking it would be a matter for the Board Governance Committee because it's about votes not being recorded.
