It was translated as you asked. (I hope I was quick enough. :) -- Leoadec 21:06, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Welcome to the team!

I've seen your submission to Wikimania, quite interesting stuff! It's nice to see you on the Wikimedia Research Team as well. I'll let you know when we get started.--Eloquence 02:56, 27 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mailings!

Cormac, greetings. What do you say to sending out a text quarto email this weekend? A test balloon, reminding people where they can find WQ2. The English edition will be published, and next week after we have the first translations with a translated reports page, we can send out another. +sj | Translate the Quarto | + 04:39, 27 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Draft done by email (quarto-l)

Cormac,

Thank you for the invite to the research mailing list. Just subscribed. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you in Frankfurt. I did get a chance to talk with Erik about the survey but not for long enough. I'm looking forward to getting that started. K1v1n 12:20, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania 2006 in London

Thanks for your support (I have edited the page to be more concise, hence your comments are gone...). It was a great venue. Shame about the plenary.... now, perhaps I should consider Queen Mary, not so far away... Aha! [1] look at that - 800 seats!

Quick phone conversation today - sounds very promising - and Queen Mary is my "alma master" LoopZilla 13:34, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania London 2006?

  • Yes, they have sent a brochure in the snail mail!
  • Yes, I have edited the draft bid today!

student involvement

I like what you wrote about collaborative learning (Wikiversity#Vision). It seems like the wikiversity main page should have a section called "the role of the student" which instructs potential students to look over the listings of "courses", but also to take an active role in creating the conditions that they need for learning. In particular, there could be a page where students can describe what they want to learn about and facilitators could could point towards available "courses" or work with the student to set up a new "course" that fits the student's needs. I put quotes around "courses" because I'm not sure that wikiversity should be dealing with what we traditionally think of as a university course. I set up the Cell Biology course to be a "portal" that invites students to start a collaborative project. --JWSurf 15:06, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania 2006 in London - is it official?

Cormac,

Should we make this offical now? I am away next week and cannot work on the pages much....
