Board of Directors

At the meeting in London on 15 January 2006, the nominees to be the first Directors were selected. They officially became Directors on the founding of Wiki Educational Resources Limited ("WER") on 14 February 2006. This Board will seek to get WER registered as a charity. At the first Annual General Meeting, which was held on June 23, 2007, all directors stood down and sought re-election. The present Board is listed below. If you wish to be involved in helping us get registered charity status, please let us know - there's plenty to be done and you don't need to be a director or member to help!

The present Board are:

We are interested in hearing from UK-based editors who would like to get involved in the operations and management of WER/WMUK; more information about the above vacancies is on the WMUK website.

Miscellany

Name

Legally we chose not to be called Wikimedia UK, as that would have created a trademark which we did not wish to own, but we do use that as our operating name. We therefore needed a different name for the company and Wiki Educational Resources Limited was chosen - see /Company name for background.

Domains

The chapter's domain, presently registered to James F., is http://wikimedia.org.uk/ and all chapter email, wiki and websites are under this domain.

The following domains also exist but are not used nor controlled by the Chapter in any way.

Mailing list

Note this is for discussion of the Wikimedia in the UK - for general discussion of the English language Wikipedia, see Wikien-l.
