The Jones Report

Template:911tm Alexander Emerick Jones (born February 11 1974) is a American radio host and filmmaker who is best known for his work in promotion of 9/11 conspiracy theories.

History

Jones was born in Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas,[1] and grew up in the suburb of Rockwall, Texas.[2] He began his career in Austin with a live, call-in format cable access television program. In 1996, Jones switched format to KJFK, hosting a show named The Final Edition.[3] In 1997, he released his first documentary film, America Destroyed By Design

In 1999, he won that year's "Best of Austin" poll as radio host, voted by Austin Chronicle readers. Later that year, he was fired from KJFK-FM. According to the station's operations manager Jones was fired because his viewpoints made the show hard to sell to advertisers and he refused to broaden his topics. Jones argued: "It was purely political, and it came down from on high", and, "I was told 11 weeks ago to lay off Clinton, to lay off all these politicians, to not talk about rebuilding the church, to stop bashing the Marines, A to Z."

In 2000, Jones and assistant Mike Hanson infiltrated the Bohemian Club and filmed the opening weekend ceremony, known as the Cremation of Care, which he says has Druidic and Pagan backgrounds. His footage can be viewed in his documentary "Dark Secrets Inside Bohemian Grove." A different - and less conspiratorial - interpretation of the ceremony was reported by their fellow trespasser, the British journalist Jon Ronson in his book Them: Adventures with Extremists and documentary series Secret Rulers of the World.

On July 1,2002, Jones started the Save The Bill of Rights Campaign to repeal the Patriot Act.[4] Further in 2002, Jones released 9-11: The Road to Tyranny. In 2005, he released another film, Martial Law: 9/11 Rise of the Police State.

On June 8, 2006, Jones was stopped and detained at the Canadian border while on his way to cover a meeting of the Bilderberg group in Ottawa.[5] Jones has appeared in two Richard Linklater movies as an actor: Waking Life (2001) and A Scanner Darkly (2006).

Alex Jones Show

Jones can be heard on Emmis Communications' KLBJ 590 AM in Austin every Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm. This show is being nationally syndicated and is associated with Genesis Communications Network.[6]

Notable guests have included:

Regular guests have included Dylan Avery, William Rodriguez , Professor Steven Jones , Aaron Russo, David Ray Griffin, Jeff Rense, David Icke, Mike Rivero, Webster Tarpley, David Shayler[9]

On March 20, 2006, he had Charlie Sheen as a guest on his talk show. The interview received mainstream media coverage and commentary by CNN Showbiz Tonight Fox News' Hannity & Colmes and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Al-Jazeera stated that it "provoked a media storm."[10]

Views

Alex Jones describes himself as an ex Paleo-conservative. His philosophy has strong libertarian and constitutionalist strands. He is against globalization. Jones is a strong opponent of the Neo-Conservative movement, which he considers to dominate the current Bush administration. He claims that there is a “phony left/right paradigm” in American politics that hides a fundamental "unity of agenda", which is promoted by the "elites" who, according to Jones, hold political control over the world. These "elites" are claimed to be behind a plan for a global government that will condemn all of humanity to a capitalist gulag, which he describes as a global plantation or "prison planet". In the United States he has stated that this "gulag" will be enforced by martial law. Jones is also skeptical of global warming and the "War on Terror", claiming they are hoaxes perpetrated by "globalist elements" to advance the aim of a world government.

Alex Jones claims that "elements" within the United States government are promoting this aim by weakening national sovereignty,[11] using International Institutions such as the World Bank.[12] Jones often refers to the international institutions, the military industrial complex and the Illuminati [13]as globalist forces.

On August 10, 2006, Alex Jones received wide news coverage by predicting "a massive staged false flag terror attack, blamed on Hezbollah or Al-Qaeda, that will light the blue touch paper for World War Three“ would happen “before the end of October unless a gargantuan effort to prevent it is launched." Jones stated his hope that a greater public awareness could prevent false flag attacks.[14] No attacks occurred, although Jones did take back his prediction citing public awareness.

The March, 2007 issue of HUSTLER Magazine features an interview with Jones about 9-11, in an article entitled 'Was 9-11 An Inside job?'.

Communism

In Martial Law 9/11: Rise of the Police State, Jones claims that Communism was a plot by international banks in the early 1900s to oppress the Russian serfs. He further claims that Communists in the West today are funded by corporations. [15]

Media appearances

He has been featured as a prominent figure of the 9/11 Truth Movement in such publications as The New York Times,[16] Vanity Fair and Popular Mechanics.[17]

He is a frequent guest of George Noory on Coast to Coast AM, and has appeared on CBC, Fox News Channel, Washington Post,[18] WorldNetDaily,[19] USA Today,[20] San Antonio Express-News,[21] Austin American-Statesman,[22] Austin Chronicle,[23] The Alan Colmes Show[citation needed] and C-SPAN.[24]

Websites

In June 2001, Jones launched Prisonplanet.com. He also has the following websites: Infowars.com; Prisonplanet.tv (subscriber based); Jonesreport.com; and Martiallaw911.info.

These are a network of websites, whose main site is infowars.com. In April 2004, Jones debuted prisonplanet.tv, which provides access to his documentary films, radio interview archives, clips from his cable access television show, and digital versions of books he has written. His affiliates run infowars.net and infowarsnetwork.com, a hosting service. Jones also maintains jonesreport.com (a take on the Drudge Report).

Jones has produced a series of videos about what he believes is the emergence of a totalitarian world government, the erosion of the United States' national sovereignty and its civil liberties, the misuse of government power, corporate deception, and cohesion between disparate power structures. Jones has said that he is working on a new movie which will explain what he terms the New World Order
