Undergound Electricity

In its early conception during the early 1900's, undergound electricity has been the forfront of delivering invisible power to both people and business. Its method of use has complicated the delivery system to the point that manufacturers have needed to continually rehash the materials required to produce efficent cables that don't breakdown under normal operation and enviromental conditions. The first pioneers to create such a viable network were English Electric Cables with their concept of paper / lead cables. The first prototype cables were of low voltage which needed little materials to make as low voltage has the least insulation around the inner cores.

Podcaster

Podcasters are broken down into two types: content dumpers and independents. Content dumpers are typically media companies that have existing TV or radios shows that allocate some of their content for podcasts. Independents began the industry of podcasting in 2004. The are individuals that produce content on specific niche topics. The heart and soul of the podcasting business is driven by the independents. Large media company podcast's have a broadcast or wide appeal on topics such as news, politics and pop culture. Independent podcasts deliver content that is usually enthusiast based content. They narrow cast to a similar minded audience. Cooking would be a wide subject covered by large media outlet like the Food Channel. However, a podcast dedicated to clam bakes on the beach is the type of niche content produced by an independent podcaster.

iTunes, the largest aggregator of podcasters, servers over 70,000 podcasts. Only a handful of those 70,000 are produced by large media companies. The majority of podcasts produced are created by independents. Technology is the most popular category follow by culture. There are many podcast specific to software like Photoshop and Final Cut Pro, as well as, a healthy supply of content pertaining to PC and Macintosh new technology. Music leads the way in culture. Performance videos or concert footage is the crux of many music podcasts. Dance and jazz are very popular cultural podcast primarly because these topic are under served in the United States. Niche culture is largely under served in the United States. Cultural podcasts are filling that void for many fans. Culturecatch.com is one of the more popular cultural podcasts.
