Over the Hills and Far Away
Over the Hills and Far Away may refer to:
- An old song Over the Hills and Far Away, popular with the British Army. The music dates from the time of Marlborough, at least the early 1700s, whilst the words have changed gradually with the years. Often associated with the Napoleonic War years. Carlton Television adapted the tune as the signature theme for the Sharpe series. This was also the song of the 95th Regiment of Foot (the Rifles) formed during the Napoleonic wars.
- A piece of music, the Children's March 'Over The Hills And Far Away' by the Australian-born composer Percy Grainger (1882–1961).
- A song, Over the Hills and Far Away by the British rock group Led Zeppelin. It appeared on their fifth album, "Houses of the Holy".
- A song by the British band The Mission.
- A song by Gary Moore from his album "Wild Frontier" from 1987. Moore's song has also been covered by Nightwish, Thyrfing,Sonata Arctica, and Saurom Lamderth (renamed as "La disolución de la compañía").
- A Nightwish album, Over the Hills and Far Away, named after their Gary Moore cover.
