NBTY, Inc., formerly known as Nature's Bounty, Inc., is a manufacturer of vitamins and nutritional supplements which are distributed under many third party brands in the United States and internationally. [1] Its name was changed from Nature's Bounty, Inc. to NBTY, Inc. in 1995.[2]
In 1999, NBTY became a supplier of nutritional supplements for Wal-Mart under the Nature's Bounty brand[3], and was named Wal-Mart's Supplier of the Year in 2002[4].
In May 2000, NBTY announced a large addition to its supply of products at Walgreens [5].
In 2003, CVS selected NBTY as its exclusive supplier for all existing vitamins and supplements [6].
NBTY also markets products to chain stores such as CVS, Eckerd Drugs, and Target.

Nature's Bounty was founded in 1971 by Arthur Rudolph primarily as a mail order, catalog based company. Nature's Bounty is headquartered in Bohemia, New York.
Brands
Nature's Bounty distributes its products to supermarkets, drug store chains, and health food stores under various brand names. Some of the more recognizable brands include Puritan's Pride, Vitamin World and Nutrition Warehouse, MET-Rx, and GNC (UK).
