Talk:New Internet addresses tested on World IPv6 Day

Parts of this are kind of simplistic - IPv4 addresses are not simply 12 digit numbers, they are technically a group of 4 octets (2^32 compared to 10^12 which is a difference of about 995 billion addresses). IPv6 has other features then just bigger address space (although really that's the only one anyone cares about). Additionally its not really testing if IPv6 works, its testing if both IPv4 and IPv6 work together ok. Bawolff ☺☻ 21:44, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
