• He has 8,000 edits here, so he's been around, but the vast majority of those were files or cats, not much in Commons space. Also, last summer he uploaded fifteen files with no source, twelve of which were subsequently deleted. That raises the question if he really knows the rules. On the plus side, there are only 61 items on his all time talk page -- and many of those are QI and FP, so he doesn't generate bad vibes. Perhaps -- and I say only "perhaps" -- this is another candidate that we might suggest come back in a few months after spending some time on DRs. First of all, to address your concern, Jim, those deleted files were uploaded by me from uk.wp using Commonshelper (I needed them to illustrate some articles about Ukrainian cities in ro.wp). Some of them were lacking source information and got deleted; I do know the rules (I am also an OTRS volunteer for the Romanian language channel and I deal with copyright and media problems in that area), but at that time I was a little careless in following them.

Second of all, thanks, Memo, for the nomination, but between OTRS, sysop/bureaucrat/checkuser work on ro.wp and my off-wiki life I don't have much time for much else. As some of you noticed, my work with Commons deals a lot with uploading free images of my own or from other wikis and categorizing them, not with other kind of issues. Even if I would get the rights, I still don't see myself watching C:AN or deleting/blocking/protecting pages here. So, I have to decline, at least for now.—Andrei S. _Talk 08:41, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
