Attention:

This IP address, 208.198.210.253, is registered to Carroll County Public Library and is shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. — Dan | Talk 17:59, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Darcrist 19:14, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism to Warren G. Harding page

This is to note that your vandalism to the Warren G. Harding article (blanking the scandal section) has been reverted. Noting that additional vandalism to other articles has occurred from the IP address before, I would support any sysops action against this IP address if the vandalism continues. Long term block

This IP number is a chronic vandal, and has contributed nothing but vandalism to Wikipedia. Several short term blocks have not served as deterrent. Numerous warnings have been deleted from this talk page (see [1]). I am hereby blocking this IP from editing, indefinitely. --Woggly 21:26, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Request for modification of block terms

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

208.198.210.253 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

This IP is a shared IP address within Carroll County Public Schools. Any vandalism stemming from this address likely came from unregistered users who attended this school (or the school system at large, I'm not sure how it works). However, there are some students, such as myself, and possibly teachers at this school who are unable to positively contribute to Wikipedia as a result of this block. I am not asking for this IP address to be completely unblocked, however I do request that the IP address be placed under a soft block that allows registered users to log in and edit pages as they normally would. I would have contacted Woggly directly concerning this, but his e-mail is not available and due to the block, I can't post anything on his talk page. Thank you to anyone who reviews this case.

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=This IP is a shared IP address within Carroll County Public Schools. Any vandalism stemming from this address likely came from unregistered users who attended this school (or the school system at large, I'm not sure how it works). However, there are some students, such as myself, and possibly teachers at this school who are unable to positively contribute to Wikipedia as a result of this block. I am not asking for this IP address to be completely unblocked, however I do request that the IP address be placed under a [[WP:BLOCK#Options_for_IP_blocks|soft block]] that allows registered users to log in and edit pages as they normally would. I would have contacted Woggly directly concerning this, but his e-mail is not available and due to the block, I can't post anything on his talk page. Thank you to anyone who reviews this case. |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=This IP is a shared IP address within Carroll County Public Schools. If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:
