Thanks for your support

I would like to thank you for coming out and participating in my Request for Adminship, which closed unsuccessfully at (48/8/6) based on my withdrawal. I withdrew because in my opinion I need to focus on problems with my content contributions before I can proceed with expanding my responsibilities. Overall I feel that the RfA has improved me as an editor and in turn some articles which in my eyes is successful. Thank you again for your support. Cheers and happy editing.--kelapstick (talk) 18:03, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mind if I join you to mediate this case? I've spoken with PhilKnight, and I sort of want to do some mediating myself, so he suggested that I mediate a case with somebody so I know what I'm doing. I'm wondering is it possible for me to join you on this case? Thanks. Renaissancee (talk) 02:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With pleasure! I've just started this one & it's shaping up to be quite complicated! More soon. Dotty••| 07:33, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey OK-What I've done is try & condense some of the long arguments into a few points-as I think it stands! Although it's quite confusing so your comments here or there are appreciated-the aim of mediation is to try & find some middle ground that everyone can agree with, we don't have the authority to impose a solution on people-however, in this case I feel that it may turn out that the end consensus will not be agreed by absolutely everyone-in which case it's important to establish consensus between many people! Any comments or questions? Dotty••| 07:58, 4 June 2009 (UT

Re

I don't really see anything wrong in your posts, I'd just kind of like to stand back and watch at the moment. If I feel I need to add something I'll pipe in. Thanks though! Renaissancee (talk) 22:18, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Informal mediation

I belive that the DIREKTOR filled the request without proper procedure: first 3O, or directly to RfC, but not directly to the Cabal. Also I find that he did not portrayed the issue (in that mediation request) neutraly, he expressedly emphasised on the issues from his POV angle.

In that section of the request, where the questions are asked, he asked them with bias and one angle approach while advocating his POV, I have gone through one RfC in the past and know that questions (to the general auditorium) should be asked as questions and not as biased phrasing of a rabid yugo-nationalist DIREKTOR on Serbs and Croats as being the one nation with one language

Imbris (talk) 01:11, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However he came into the mediation & however he phrased it, makes no difference to me. I came in completely neutral & have heard most of the arguments. Dotty••| 07:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. DIREKTOR is not interested in receiving comments, or following procedure, he should have filled a RfC. Also his attempt to delete Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian language form the article are cherry picking a favourite (Mr. DIREKTOR speaks "Serbo-Croatian")
Mr. Ivan Štambuk was canvassed into the discussion (Mr. DIREKTOR called him to join the discussion, and in that address he said something like "settle the matter for good")
Mr. Ivan Štambuk then involved himself in an attempt to downgrade Bosnian, Croatian, and also Serbian language to a version of Serbo-Croatian.
Did you see the text Serbo-Croatian language (no iso codes, except a code that calls it a macrolanguage). Do human beings speak "macrolanguages" as their mother tongue? Lower Sorbian language and Upper Sorbian language have more iso codes than the Serbo-Croatian or Croato-Serbian
Mediation cannot be about forcing false information, without reliable sources, into the article?
This entire procedure should be nullified and downgraded to RfC

Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Thank You Australia Inc

Hello Dottydotdot I have edited the article below. Pls check if ok. Just wondering what is the next step - I logged in and it is not showing on my contribution page anymore. Venusa7

Thank You Australia Inc (TYA) is an association of multicultural individuals and organisations that aims to establish goodwill and express appreciation to the host country Australia for giving people from across the globe the opportunity to live and settle in the country. TYA also gives opportunities to everyone to show appreciation or express gratitude to another individual, relatives or loved ones, organisation, group of people or society, government, and to the Divine Creator.

TYA's motto is "There is a time for everything... and there is a time for saying 'Thank You!'" As in any walk of life, there is a time for laughter, for joy, for tears, for asserting one's rights, a time for a cause, a time for helping others, a time for coming to life, a time for passing away, a time to repent, a time for remission, a time for victory, a time for whatever event it is that need to happen, etc.

Thank You Week is one event that gives opportunity for those who feel indebted to someone to express gratitude and appreciation. Such event creates awareness for human beings' innate desire to express goodwill from their innermost self and the bonding that comes out of it provides a realisation of joy on the part of the recipient. A simple gesture and yet it can be considered a strength rather than a weakness to acknowledge one's worthiness as seen by another.

TYA Inc was first conceived in 2002 in the midst of Sydney's western suburb, Rooty Hill, in New South Wales Australia. A concept emanating from God Is Good Mission's pastor, Rolly Militar, brought to life in 2003 when TYA was officially registered in mid 2003 as an existing incorporated community association. TYA is also recognised by NSW Community Relations Commission as a bonafide community organisation. [1];

Becky Horton took charge of its establishment and became its National Coordinator. Invitations and information letters were sent to churches and community organisations in the first quarter of 2003. Becky Horton travelled across Australia from one capital city to another and established branches in each capital city where meetings were held with key individuals and groups of people while small events were being held in Sydney west in 2003. From then on, TYA's activities were being held in the open with a number of multicultural individuals participating.

A series of meetings and local events were held in 2003 mainly in Rooty Hill, NSW. On 30 October, 2004, [2] the first ever Thank You Festival was held in Campbelltown Sports & Football Stadium in Leumeah, Macarthur Region. It was an all-day event with a number of participation from various multicultural groups and were attended by some dignitaries and government figures. A message from the Hon Prime Minister John Howard was read by his representative Mr Pat Farmer on the day when the Prime Minister also expressed his own gratitude of the role of multicultural communities’ contributions in Australia’s history, social trend and its current shape and development as we know it today.

During the festival, and since then, TYA events have always been highlighted by Catwalk & Design, a competition of fashion models and fashion designers, that is proving successful among the youth of today. Catwalk & Design is Becky Horton's brainchild having been exposed in costume production at a very young age [3] and giving opportunities for novice fashion models to find their niche in the industry, these young girls and boys undergo a crash course on modelling prior to the competition day.

TYA events and its Catwalk & Design have been held in other venues such as Sydney Centrepoint Convention & Conference Centre, Wesley Convention Centre in Sydney and Liverpool Catholic Club. Other events were also held separately in a number of states of Australia mainly in the capital cities. [4]

QOTD

Would you mind having the quote as one page and the author as another? You could then transclude these into your other templates and it would let people format them exactly as they wanted. Other than that, I love the concept and could use just such a thing. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 20:28, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep I should think so, I'll have a look into it over the weekend! Dotty••| 21:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK Done, see your talkpage. Dotty••| 08:18, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
God, I could have sworn that I thanked you earlier. But you'd have probably seen me coming, seeing as though you're stalking me. :) Thanks anyway, I'm using it on my userpage now (but you knew that already, right?). - Jarry1250 (t, c) 19:45, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RFA Thanks

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which succeeded with 56 in support, 12 in opposition and 3 neutral votes. I am truly honored by the trust that the community has placed in me. Whether you supported me, opposed me, or if you only posted questions or commented om my RfA, I thank you for your input and I will be looking at the reasons that people opposed me so I can improve in those areas :). If you ever need anything please feel free to ask me and I would be happy to help you :). All the Best, Mifter (talk)

History of Dubai

Just a note to let you know that I thought this was a fabulous rewrite, but it didn't meet the five times expansion when i ran a check. I've tagged it thus, hoping you might want to expand it some more (it's currently at 4 times, using DYKcheck). Best wishes. hamiltonstone (talk) 12:25, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah darn it, hoped it might be enough. That's fine, I think I know how I can expand it-is there a time limit now or not? Thanks! Dotty••| 17:19, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
