Amanda Knox is a confessed murder suspect awaiting trial in Perugia, Italy for the stabbing death of Meredith Kercher.[2] After being interrogated by Italian authorities in Perugia, Knox confessed to the murder while implicating two other men.[3] Knox had been living with Kercher while she was studying abroad in Italy.[3][4]

Early Life

Knox attended the prestigious Seattle Prepatory School before graduating and attending the University of Washington,[3][5][2] where she had been majoring in International Studies and Germanics.[5][2][6] She traveled to Italy in the fall of 2007 and found a house in Perugia on della Pergola with three roommates.[2][5] She met her boyfriend and accomplice, Raffaele Sollecito, shortly afterwards.[2] She later met Patrick Lumumba, another accomplice, at a nearby cafe.[2]

Murder of Merideth Kercher

Knox confessed to murdering Meredith Kercher after she refused to participate in an orgy with Knox, Lumumba and Sollecito.[2] According to local authorities, Kercher's throat had been slit with a pen-knife or glass shard, but neither have been found yet.[2][7][4]
