Rollback

(add requestview requests)

User:Vivek Rai

I would like to have Rollback rights to get more involved with my association with Wikipedia. Though, I'm not only a vandalism hunter and also focus on creating articles and fixing problems, I often fix vandal inputs as much as possible. I'm also a swift user of Twinkle. VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  14:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I'm not going to close this one as a non-admin, but I see that you only use Twinkle for new page patrolling, not anti-vandalism. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 19:55, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're quite right and my statement fully correlates to yours one. But besides new pages which are created in large numbers daily, I browse most of the wikilinked pages. Therefore it happens that I encounter much vandalism present in them, but in most of times - I remove them by editing and cleanup rather than rolling back. So, that is what might have arose your suspicion. Anyways, Thanks for the observation. VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  10:25, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) If that were the case I would expect to see a history of user warnings and I don't see that either. I suggest you focus on the CVUA and wait until your instructor tell you that you're ready for rollback. Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 11:39, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You have done good work here, just not seeing enough reverting to be able to judge when you would use the tool and when you would do an (undo) with edit summary or removal with clean-up. Maybe try your hand at either recent changes or a review of the recent edits on your watchlist and come back after doing some plain reverts. Kindly Calmer Waters 13:39, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:TheIrishWarden

I am keen on anti-vandalism and things related to this. I use twinkle at the moment but I want to try and use Igloo now. TheIrishWarden - Irish and proud (talk) 16:06, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
May I ask why is this taking so long? TheIrishWarden - Irish and proud (talk) 11:12, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because RFA is broken; we have all a real life somehow, and of course, we have no deadline. ;-) mabdul 11:45, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Put another way, there are a limited number of admins to do an increasing number of jobs so backlogs appear everywhere. Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 12:06, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(offtopic:) Can you show me the new backlogs? Actually there are less backlogs because there are - for example - users who can move files and even more rights were separated from the admin rights. mabdul 12:23, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Replied on your talk page. Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 02:40, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Krzna

I would like to use this rollback feature and i am hoping that it would make it easier for me to fight vandalism. Krzna (talk) 19:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I'm not going to perform a non-admin closure on this one, but I don't see any vandalism reversion from you. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 19:58, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I see no anti-vandalism work.--Anderson - what's up? 20:36, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I came across the rollback feature and twinkle yesterday. I do revert vandal edits manually and i thought this may make it easier. But if its needed to use twinkle before getting the rollback permission, i am ok with it. I'll try using twinkle. Thanks :), - Krzna (talk) 21:54, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) Twinkle lets you do everything (almost everything) that rollback does, and much much more! Check out this section. :) Theopolisme TALK 22:08, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Babuonwiki

Autopatrolled user, seeking Rollback rights to fight vandals on wiki. Already familiar in using the Twinkle tool. BabuOnWiki (talk) 14:42, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done Be aware that reverts will not leave an edit summary (unless you enable an add-on), so be careful of blanket reverts on possible good faith India related edits (some may not know why it was a bad addition or removal without a small explanation). You already do this; however, quick rollbacks takes this ability away when dealing with obvious vandalism, making it one step faster. Kindly Calmer Waters 15:36, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jennie--x

Already familiar with the Twinkle tools, this will provide an easier way of fighting vandals. Jennie | 16:46, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) Looking through your edit history I don't see many vandalism reverts (in fact there have only been two this month and those were today) you need a lot more evidence that you know what vandalism is and is not before you get rollback rights. I suggest you focus on the CVUA for the moment as that will prepare you for rollback and counter-vandalism in general. Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 11:34, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done Jennie--x may not have many reverts, but the ones she has made seem okay to me. As always, for practice I recommend undo over Twinkle (and especially over CVUA), but Jennie--x's existing anti-vandal work is sufficient for me. Acalamari 16:20, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Receptie123

(I would like to have Rollback rights because i have been a new page patroler for a while and it you be good if i also had rollback rights. Receptie123 (talk) 16:08, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I think the user should come back when he has more helpful contributions. User has only 136 edits and none of them are counter vandalism reverts. I also disagree with this UAA he brought up, which proves the user can not identify unacceptable usernames. Cheers, Riley Huntley talk No talkback needed; I'll temporarily watch here. 16:20, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: - To be fair, the UAA thing doesn't really link in with rollback. --Chip123456 TalkContribs 18:49, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I agree with Chip123456. WP:UAA Does not link in with rollback.Anderson - what's up? If you believe there has been a mistake, report it on my talk page. 02:39, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Sorry Receptie123, but you have far too few reverts to judge how you would use rollback (I did not factor in the insufficient UAA report mentioned above, as I agree that UAA is not relevant to good use of rollback). I recommend reading Wikipedia:Vandalism and practice reverting using the undo feature for a week or so. After you've had some more practice, feel free to re-request rollback here or on my talk page. Best. Acalamari 16:24, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Musdan77

I am interested in using igloo and, of course, I need rollback rights. I have been using Twinkle for awhile, and close to 1/4 of my edits deal with vandalism. Musdan77 (talk) 19:45, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Question: Why was this vandalism?--Chip123456 TalkContribs 19:55, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch. I often see vandalism where someone will replace names with other names (like their own or friends), and since this was the only edit by this user and no explanation given, I assumed that was the case. Well, we all make mistakes. --Musdan77 (talk) 21:15, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good response. An admin will review your request as soon as possible.--Chip123456 TalkContribs 16:02, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jschnur

I am enrolled with CVUA. I need rollback for HUGGLE. Thanks Jschnur (talk) 02:11, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I'm not going to perform a closure as a non-admin, but some of those edits were good faith, not Vandalism.--Anderson - what's up? If you believe there has been a mistake, report it on my talk page. 02:32, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes its hard to tell. That's why I'm enrolled at CVUA. Would you be more specific? Thanks Jschnur (talk) 02:57, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:VAND and WP:NOTVAND. Although a some of your rv's are ok, I would suggest focusing yourself on the CVUA and wait until your instructor gives you the heads up.--Chip123456 TalkContribs 16:17, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done Your reverts looks good. Looks like what started out with a revert for a good faith edit [1], turned into reverts for vandalism [2] [3]. Sometimes a personal message stating "hey your breaking the page with those", might do better than plain revert - warning template :) Just remember, if you are not entirely sure it is vandalism or disruption, then use the undo edit (with summary) or leave it for another editor. User:Mar4d

I'm an autopatrolled user who's been on Wikipedia for 2.5 years now. I use Twinkle regularly to perform actions on edits that require reverting, as far as vandalism is concerned. Acquiring rollback rights would be a good addition to assist me further in that regard. Mar4d (talk) 17:29, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
