Heinz Nawratil (born 1937 in Suchdol nad Odrou, Czechoslovakia) is a German lawyer, legal author and human rights activist.

After World War II Nawratil settled in Bavaria, West Germany, where he grew up in Miesbach. He studied law, earned a doctorate and worked as a civil law notary.[citation needed] He has written legal textbooks which have been printed in over a million copies.[citation needed] He is also known for his work on the expulsion of Germans after World War II.

Nawratil´s Schwarzbuch der Vertreibung (Blackbook on Expulsion) received a positive review by Erika Steinbach in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 1999.[1]

Like his collegues Prof. Dr. Alfred de Zayas and Prof. Dr. Felix Ermacora, two human rights experts and scientists for international law who classify the Vertreibung (Expulsion) an Ethnic Cleansing and a Genocide, Heinz Nawratil too points out that crimes against humanity and a genocide on millions of German civilians [2] [3] during and after World War Two remain largely unknown, tabooed and legitimised by an alleged Collective German guilt.

In 2007 Nawratil was member of a delegation of the Society for Threatened Peoples visiting Iraqi Kurdistan.[4].
