Pervasive Software develops and distributes data infrastructure software and ETL tools that integrate, analyze, secure, manage and harvest data from disparate sources. Pervasive Data Integrator(TM) and Pervasive Data Profiler(TM) are the flagship integration products, and the Pervasive PSQL(R) relational distributed database is the primary offering on the data storage side. These embeddable data management products deliver business-to-business integration between corporate data, third-party applications and custom software in a broad array of markets like accounting & finance, retail, CRM, government, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, and education.

The company is also heavy involved in Cloud computing through Pervasive Data Solutions and also provides Pervasive DataRush developers engaged in parallelized multicore-powered data-intensive HPC.

Pervasive Software is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and sells its products into more than 150 countries with market development partners in UK, Europe, Japan, ASEAN territories, Mexico, Korea, and China.

Pervasive CTO and General Manager of Integration Products Mike Hoskins is a recognized expert on data integration issues who frequently publishes articles in industry magazine DMReview and various white papers in other venues, as well as presenting on integration topics at industry conventions. He was named Austin Information Technologist of the Year for 2007 for his work with the Pervasive DataRush(TM) multi-core Java dataflow development tool.

History

Pervasive started in 1982 as SoftCraft with the Btrieve database technology. Acquired by Novell in 1987, Pervasive later spun out as Btrieve Technologies. The company name was changed to Pervasive Software in 1996 and went public in 1997. Flagship database product Pervasive PSQL was launched in 1999. In 2003, Pervasive acquired Data Junction Corporation makers of Data Junction, a suite of data and application integration tools now known as Pervasive Data Integrator. DJCorp, founded in 1985, was a privately held company also headquartered in Austin, TX.
