Curriculum vitae (short CV) is a latin phrase and means course of life or resume.

It's a summary of academic and work history and achivements.

There's dispute wether a CV should start with the oldest or newest entries. In Germany e.g. it's the oldest which to start with while US-Americans do it the other way.
