The miraculous catch of 153 fish is one of the miracles attributed to Jesus in the Gospel of John (21:1-14).[1]
In the Gospel of John this miracle is reported as the third appearance of Jesus after his ressurrection. A somewhat similar miracle, called the miraculous draught of fish, appears in the Gospel of Luke (5:1-11) and takes place early in Jesus's ministry, resulting in Saints Peter, James, son of Zebedee and John joining Jesus as his Apostles.[2]
The art the two miracles are distinguished by the fact that in this miracle Jesus is standing, while in the earlier miracle he is sitting in the boat.
