My Bio

I live in the United States, on the east coast. My interests are very diverse, but I'm especially fond of history, economics, politics, and practical sciences.

My Focus

Proper referencing within articles is very important to me. As a history major, I'm accustomed to qualifying almost every statement with a credible footnote when I write, and I believe Wikipedia should be held to the same high standards. As the encyclopedia's primary criticism is its perceived factual fallibility, these seems all the more important. All articles I write, long or short, are backed with a proportional number of citations.

My Contributions

My favorite way to contribute is to write a non-existent article from scratch, revive a deleted one, or completely rewrite a sloppy one. By starting without a baseline I can ensure objectivity and factual accuracy; plus, I find it easier to work without a predefined structure. I've enjoyed writing research essays since I was very young; Wikipedia provides an ideal outlet for this 'hobby', exposing me to topics I'd never think to write about -- my first major article detailed press passes; I've since written of frogs, airplanes, and lightning, truck-stops, and Christian sects. Strangely, I've yet to write a single article even remotely related to the fields of history or economics, my college majors.

Additionally, I'm able to contribute occasional graphics. Usually I'll do this in conjuncture with creating an article; I'm not really sure how to find graphics that need creating for existing articles. If you'd like me to try creating one for an article you're working on, let me know -- I enjoy it, and it's good practice.

Lately I've been learning how to write Python programs and I've made a few pretty crude Wikipedia programs for myself, including a citation-generator and an infobox-maker.
