Revision as of 23:12, 22 October 2008

Greetings Aramaean, I didn't wanted to get into an edit war, but I suggest we continue to discuss the issue (if desired) in the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac). If you need help with anything, please let me know. Chaldean (talk) 23:04, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please join us in Wikipedia:Assyrian-Syriac_wikipedia_cooperation_board and list your name under Participations. Chaldean (talk) 18:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, a while back ago, I started all these Syrianska football pages, but I couldn't find much English information on each club to expand the articles. Perhaps you can do a little work on them. Chaldean (talk) 19:07, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem my brother :) AramaeanSyriac (talk) 19:13, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that was my mistake. Please don't hesitate to correct me when I make mistakes. Chaldean (talk) 19:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to say that you are a great fresh breath of air here in Wikipedia. Keep up the good work. Chaldean (talk) 02:11, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assyrians/Syriacs

Yes As for all articles entitled "Assyrians/Syriacs in X" they should be moved. As for Assyrians in Turkey, I'm moving it just to be safe - I found it doubtful you can have an article about modern-day Assyrians that is not consequently about modern-day Syriacs. The entire nomenclature between Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syriacs really needs to be cleared up somehow, but I'm not enough of an expert to fix it myself. Let me know if you have any more questions for me. -Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 20:12, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop destroying the Assyrians pages! if you want to describe us like Assyrians/Syriacs then why do you only speak about the arameans in the arameans-syriac page?! The Western Assyrians-Syriacs are not only descirbing themselve as arameans so its your choice —Preceding unsigned comment added by WestAssyrian (talkcontribs) 10:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dont change the Assyrian people page! you and the other arameans can write about the aramean-syriac Im going to make a article about the Western Assyians (also called Assyrian-Syriacs) you are arameans and we are the assyrians so stop destroying the assyrian pages! WestAssyrian (talk —Preceding comment was added at 16:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need for this kind of language. Please try to work together. Chaldean (talk) 16:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chaldean/ I want to work with ArameanSyriac but he just change every Assyrian word to Syriac or Aramean! the Syriac term is only refering to the Assyrian-Aramean people belonging to the Syriac Church so its not enough to only describe us Syriacs! Assyrian/Syriac/Chaldeans there are 3 groups so how can the Syriac term refering to the whole group?? the Syriac term isnt a ethnic term its the name of one church! The Assyrian term is ethnic --WestAssyrian (talk) 17:19, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What are you doing seriously?? be neutral! I havent done anything wrong with the Assyrian people page! I have only added some facts! so stop with your Aramaen propaganda! --WestAssyrian (talk) 21:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Syriacs

Hello AramaeanSyriac - you wrote: I wonder if you could move all articles in category Syriacs to category Syriac people ?

To be honest, it's as easy for you to do that as it is for me, since I change categories manually. It would be easier if you requested that someone who uses an automated bot did this (there is a page to request such help - Wikipedia:Bot requests). Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 11:05, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you were going to do it by hand, you'd simply edit each page to change the category link at the bottom of the page (like I've done with this one here. If you mean you don't know how to make a bot request, simply add a new section to the bottom of Wikipedia:Bot_requests asking for all articles marked with Category:Syriacs to have that link changed to Category:Syriac people. Grutness...wha? 13:33, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shlomo

Khon, unfortunatly, I have been very busy these and as I am unable to work on Wikipedia right. I ask of you to work 'together with WestAssryian or anybody else. When working together, we can accomplish anything. When I have time, I will come back to Wiki's projects. For the mean time, communicate with each other here; Wikipedia_talk:Assyrian-Syriac_wikipedia_cooperation_board#Problems. Shlomo. Chaldean (talk) 16:10, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I have moved your comments on WestAssyrian's talkpage to the discussion board. Please continue talking about the issue over there. Thanks. Chaldean (talk) 15:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This all out war you and WestAssyrian are have having is not improving pages. Like I said before, discuss each issue in the board Wikipedia talk:Assyrian-Syriac wikipedia cooperation board. We wont accomplish anything by RVing every 5 minutes. Chaldean (talk) 12:42, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ahono, Chaldean is just the same as WestAssyrian, adding Assyrian in every article trying to put the Syriac name into shadows. The only differnece between him and WestAssyrian is that he knows English, which cannot be told about WestAssyrian. With that said, he still lacks reading comprehension. The TriZ (talk) 13:06, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You "Triz" obviously is not part of the solution as you have constantly insulted users and continue to not contribute positively. Chaldean (talk) 13:09, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Me, insulted anyone? Whatever. I've done my contributions, i've been for example rewarded historian of the week in Swedish wiki, and i've also created some articles here in enwiki. But unfortunetly my time and power goes to cleaning after you and your friends. The TriZ (talk) 13:22, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please go back to Swedish Wiki then. Obviously your not part of the solution. AramaeanSyriac, I'd like your take at Talk:Aramean-Syriac_people#Population_numbers. Chaldean (talk) 13:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey did you check out the source? [[1]] it says 37K not 900K. Chaldean (talk) 14:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dear friend i just changed it, how come you are not willing to cooperate anymore with me?AramaeanSyriac (talk) 14:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What? :D thats silly, I just corrected what the source was saying. There isn't 900,000 Syriacs in Lebanon, but 37,000 like the source says. Chaldean (talk) 14:54, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okey im sorry for that but it said 37,000 but then i think a lebanese changed that im not really sure. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 14:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Setting guidelines

Hey khon, I think we need to create a roadmap or a guideline (Rules) for all these issues that we are dealing with. Please give me your opinion on the following; Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac)#Setting_rules.2Fguidelines. Chaldean (talk) 17:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please please don't forget about this. Chaldean (talk) 14:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Aramaic Music Festival

A tag has been placed on Aramaic Music Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Blowdart | talk 09:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Propaganda

This edit right here is pure propaganda [[2]] and you know that very well. Just because a few, and that is VERY few, don't want to be identified as Arab, doesn't mean you can label all of them as Syriac. Besides, they mostly identify with Phenonica. There are a few Syriac Orthodox that call themselves Assyrian, so should I label all of them as Assyrians in the Assyrian people page? Of course not. Chaldean (talk) 16:24, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maronites are syriacs AramaeanSyriac (talk) 14:15, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me? And do you want me to start saying Syriacs are Assyrians? I have not checked your edits because I have trusted you. But I saw this propaganda move and it alarmed me. This is very shalow of you. Your going have to ask yourself this question; are you here to write encyclopedic articles or are you here to push propaganda? Please make the right choice. What you did was very wrong. Chaldean (talk) 22:08, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about you Chaldean, are you here to write encyclopedic articles? Or are you here to push propaganda [3]? —Preceding unsigned comment added by The TriZ (talkcontribs) 17:21, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't butt yourself into other people's convo's. Yes, I am here to write enyclopedic articles, and I have; Achaemenid Assyria has just be listed as a Wikipedia:Good Articles. Chaldean (talk) 23:30, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't play this game. Got it? Chaldean (talk) 15:22, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How come its a joke? Its a image of a magazine. I dont read anywhere where it says assyrian or something like that ? i only read suryaniler AramaeanSyriac (talk) 23:32, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Aramnahrain.org is not accepted as a reliable source. That is why its a joke. If you look at the talk page you will see that we have a Wikipedia moderator that actually met Father Akhlabut and he confirmed that he proudly considers himself Assyrian. You should really look in the talk pages before making such contriversial edits again. Please, just for the good of all of us. Chaldean (talk) 16:12, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what are you trying to achive in such edits? Its nothing but provokative - rather instead create enyclopedic articles about our people, that will find others interesting to read. Just going to pages and adding Syriac Aramaic, doesn't really contribute to any article. Expand articles instead. Chaldean (talk) 16:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, don't bother comment other peoples edits when you yourself are no better. The TriZ (talk) 21:02, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aramean-Syriac people

Okej, vad tycker du att man kan lägga in mer? The TriZ (talk) 14:52, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I gave this article some cleaning, as you requested a month ago. Sorry it took so long for me to get to it. If you have any questions, please visit my talk page again. Happy editing! Chris the speller (talk) 03:01, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The TriZ (talk) 00:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A absolut jag har inget emot det. Men grejen e alla dom här artiklarna som finns Assyrains and syriacs in ISrael, sweden, Syria, Germany etc så borde det även vara en gemensam artikel för diasporna. Tex assyrian and Syriac diasproa. vad tycker du? AramaeanSyriac (talk) 10:12, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The TriZ (talk) 11:39, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vet du hur man skapar kategorier? The TriZ (talk) 17:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AramaeanSyriac (talk) 21:55, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The TriZ (talk) 17:34, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

De e copyright på dom bilderna. man får inte ta bilder o ladda upp hit, man måste ha tillåtelse först. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 21:42, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The TriZ (talk) 21:59, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Äh ta de säkra före de osäkra. AramaeanSyriac (talk) 22:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Herregud!

The TriZ (talk) 19:36, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AramaeanSyriac (talk) 19:58, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"The Syriac flag has it history when André Dupont-Sommer made diggings in the historical Aramaean village Tell-Khalaf,Syria in the beginning of the 19th century." The TriZ (talk) 23:02, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The TriZ (talk) 23:25, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

Before u start aramizing everything:

1) Respect the fact that there are some people out there who call themselves Chaldo-Assyrians and that they exist and there is no evidence against them

2)Discuss such controversial changes first. Gabr-el 05:32, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you wnt to contribute to this Syriac naming issue stuff, familiarize yourself with the history of the debate and seek consensus on talkpages. Thanks, --dab (𒁳) 12:04, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dbachmann, PLEASE i think you should at first familiarize yourself with the history of the debate. Syriacs are not "Assyrians". Suryoye = Syriacs and Othuroyoe = Assyrians. Suryoye (Syriacs) is a synonmym for Oromoye (Aramaeans). AramaeanSyriac (talk) 16:08, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suryoyo/Suryaya is a neutral name. Just like you say Suryoyo/Suryaya is a synonym to Oromoyo/Aramaya, the Assyrians says that Suryoyo/Suryaya is a synonym to Othuroyo/Atouraya/Ashuraya. Syriac people shouldn't redirect to anything, it should be something like the one Dbachmann made. Just like before. Shmayo (talk) 17:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shamyo, there was a page, Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac people, but now it is protected with a wrong version. It wasn't perfect, but now it is all ruined and articles like Syriac people, Syriacs, Syriac/Assyrian, etc all redirects to Assyrian people, and even though you're an Assyrian, you must agree this is wrong. The TriZ (talk) 00:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop Confusing your Ethnicity with an extinct peoples

The Aramaeans are an extinct peoples. They simply do not exist so stop your incompetent edits and meaningless bickering. Your arguments are futile we might as well start arguing that kurds are really medes and the arabs are really moabites or the maronites are really phoenicians. Do you not see the point. I am a student of the Syriac institute and all the linguistic specialists I speak with on this matter dismiss your invalid claims. If you want to discuss this matter provide some data repudiated by professional scholars on the topic. I have been in the linguistics for over a decade and I have never heard of the term Aramaean other than the fact that they died out long ago and that the reality of them being alive to this day is absurd if not historically bias. I am of German Nationality and for me to argue that I am really a Nordic, or Hun, or a Visogoth is absurd likewise with your impotent claims. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.17.218.44 (talk) 23:26, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources do say Syriacs and Chaldeans

The first source is from the Houses of Parliament in the UK, which talks of a Syriac language and of Chaldeans being Catholic Assyrians. The next source (BBC) talks of a Syriac Monk in an article about Assyrians. Now join the debate, don't simply hate and remove without reasoning. Gabr-el 23:15, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
