== 2009 Flu Pandemic ==

This site is a disgrace to the truth. You people have no regard for the truth and simply, willingly or not, give normal people disinformation. I don't know if you're aware of the fact that we are living in an environment where governments, and forces controlling them,, are keeping the truth from the people and keeping them in a state of ignorance.

I don't see why my edits are such a problem. The information is absolutely correct and is easily verifiable. I think the problem is you don't care whether it's true or not - you just don't like the fact that it is in fact true. It might be hard to accept that the swine flu outbreak was manufactured by a certain group of people but you have to come to terms with it. The evidence is clear.

You need to make a choice and think about what kind of world you want your children to live in. Do you want them living in a free world where the truth is available to them, or do you want them living as an ignorant slave? Make your decision wisely.

Thanks for bringing up TW's block at ANI and your words there [not quite sure if you're trying for an all-blank page look in which case my apologies for sullying it] William M. Connolley (talk) 12:29, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome, in both senses. Bishonen | talk 12:59, 21 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Uppers

Go and give a random editor a barnstar, for something minor in their edit history. They will likely be confused, and mischief like that is sure to bring up your mood. Best if you leave this message here, just in case they come looking for reasons... LessHeard vanU (talk) 16:59, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basildon

Thank you - very nice copy edit - is it finished now? Do you think you can blend it in to mainspace or whatever it is that is done? I can't be bothered to finish it off properly. I have some more info, but if i add it in main-space there will be more incentive to complete it.  Giacomo  20:31, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for leaving the dear bathroom fittings in the intro. But no, it isn't finished! I have the entire "Architectural appraisal" to check out still. Not sure what kind of mainspace blend you want after that: a history merge? Or a version that includes as much as possible of Basildon Park? Or just a move, overwriting Basildon Park? (I worry the last alternative might offend the people who have been editing BP recently, though only to format links and such.) Bishonen | talk 21:42, 26 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
This diff shows that edits since October 2009 could easily be incorporated in the splendid new text.--Wetman (talk) 22:17, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Wetman. ARGHHHHH! Infobox! Bishonen | talk 22:29, 26 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
We are not having that info-box, it reduces the house to the perspective of a dolls' house and the rest is ridiculous - "Parking? - yes" FGS! I think it is best to just add it and the new history with you and Wetman - the old editors will still be visible in the history, and I expect some of what they wrote may still be in there - somewhere. I did start off with just a straight lift and then re-arranged it all and expanded.  Giacomo  15:22, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, of course you're not having the box—it still frightened me a little to suddenly come across it like that, leering at me. So you don't want the histories merged? I agree—besides, I'm not sure I remember how to do it. I'm nearly through—I've done an extremely superficial copyedit, but it still took a bit of time, sorry. I've only got the short "future" section left for tomorrow—I won't edit conflict you, Wetman, in case you want to tweak it tonight. Have I got it right, Giacomo: when Wetman is also done, I'll see if some bits of the old article can be worked in, and move it to mainspace? Then you (G) will be inspired to add some remaining info and round it off? Is that it? It's a beautiful piece! Bishonen | talk 23:52, 27 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
I've asked at the help desk regarding the move of the page from GiacomoReturned's userspace. It seems to have destroyed all previous history. And I'm sorry for adding the infobox with ridiculous information... matt (talk) 09:34, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm done, I think

Only the line about film locations seemed worth keeping, the rest is so similar. I've put in the categories, too ... couldn't be bothered to use colons for them... cats can easily be re-added if anybody fiddles with them. Just let me know when you want it moved to mainspace. Perhaps Lady Catherine (the late) wants to add some family scandal? Bishonen | talk 16:51, 28 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
Her Ladyship is far too busy helping me write a Wikipedia essay. Go for it, I do have a lot more info, but it has been hanging about for far too long as it is - it needs to go into mainspace, I'll add some more when I have ythe inclination. Thanks for your help in this.  Giacomo  17:02, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Actually, I am still not totally happy with the ending, but it will have to do for now - yep go for it. I won't fiddle any more tonight.  Giacomo  17:10, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK. The intro and the ending end with the same quote, that may be why you feel it infelicitous. And there's a little note at the very end, "use some of the info from here", which I left as a reminder. Bishonen | talk 20:12, 28 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
Thanks Sweat Pea, beautifully done. One small point "eau de nil", I added that, it was my Granny's (Lady C's sister) favourite colour, but I am colour blind, I thought it was a greeenish colour - now I see it written I am concerned - I have cruised the Nile - what colour is it supposed to be?  Giacomo  23:21, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My pleasure! Eau de nil is pale cyan, which is bluey-greeney. Bishzilla's fancy sig is cyan, like this: bishzilla. See discussion here on Wetman's page, where I asked him about it. Wetman has also put in an informative footnote in the article (note 49).
I don't believe it, mind you: I bet the Nile is a muddy brown. Bishonen | talk 01:10, 29 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Hey Bish

Haven't actually talked to you in years, but was reading a touch of drama the other day and you showed up in it too and it reminded me you were still alive. Therefor, since I have now remembered, I've come to inform you that you are wonderful, smart, and could also probably kick my ass. All in all damn near the most helpful person on the project. All right then. Carry on. -- ۩ Mask 14:19, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are we still allowed to say nice things to other editors and encourage them? That seems so... 2008. Someone should bring it back, though. :) MastCell Talk 00:26, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yees.. at least, everybody is recommended to say nice things to Bishzilla as often as possible if they don't want to be eaten, squashed, or burned to a crisp. It's best to begin any message to her with "Oh great one", and then keep it on that level. Perhaps we ought to encourage everybody by talking to them like that? It would certainly bring back the good old times. Bishonen | talk 00:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
MastCell has a point -- what ever did happen to that? The last time I left someone a compliment I got a torrent of abuse on my talk page. By the way, I find Bishzilla exceptionally charming, and hugely entertaining -- would that there were more Tokyos to "enlighten".
Still miss Geogre, dammit. Antandrus (talk) 01:30, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I liked 2008, and especially the fact that at no point in that year was I fifty years old. I also think that the practice of smiley's and wikilove being deprecated in regrettable - especially as it often put the recipient into into an enhanced editing condition. I may need to drop some lovebombs on a few people... LessHeard vanU (talk) 22:33, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bish,

It's Marskell. I'm running for adminship with a new account (previous password swallowed by a fire lizard) and some people don't seem to want to me to have the tools back. See here: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Timothymarskell. Do try to track it through the edit spreeing at RfA if you can.

I hope all is well with you. Cheers, Timothymarskell (talk) 14:26, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have just reverted myself at JV - there now seems to be a gallery of works by Hawksmoor and some pics of Vanbrugh's work repeated from higher up the page, plus some new images in the article (of work attributed to Hawksmoor) shoving the text about. I was going to clean it up and correct it, but on second thoughts....others think they know best, so let them.......What a bloody mess of a once half decent page! Lots of love  Giacomo  20:50, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I wouldn't clean up, Giacomo. Just leave it. It's sad about the article, but I don't expect any collegiality from Eraserhead. I assume he/she means well on one level, and he'd better keep off my page. Bishonen | talk 22:34, 30 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]
You are quite right, but it's hard not to look, I just itch to rephrase and correct the architectural terminology - I wonder why they feel the pictures need repeating ad nauseum from page to gallery. I should imagine poor Mr Hawksmoor must be feeling quite miffed too. Any lingering doubts I ever had about ever writing another FA have been strongly confirmed.  Giacomo  22:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me for kibitzing. That page is indeed a depressing mess. Do please rephrase and correct the terminology. The result will of course remain a mess, but a slightly less depressing one. (It was toward the same end that several months ago I teethgnashingly added some source.) And some time, perhaps around 2018, the article will again be a pleasure to read, thanks largely to your efforts. -- Hoary (talk) 01:05, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't think so. I wrote the page once with Bishonen, that version was quite good enough for me. Wikipedia requires something new - and it's got it! May it enjoy it.  Giacomo  19:56, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • PS: and don't say "kibitzing" poor little Scott got Jimboed (he of the "toxic personality" quote) for making anti-smetic remarks that most other people found amusing.  Giacomo  20:00, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bishonen

It's Marskell again. I am sorry to bother but I did want to tell you that I'll always welcome an e-mail from you knowing that you won't bcc them anywhere. As I recall, a couple of Christmas' ago I left an e-conversation in the midst of things—it's inevitable but I still hate doing it.

My attempt to return yesterday was predictably quashed—the newer admins can't really help themselves but it's sad to see what a clusterfu*k has been created because of the explosion of policies and guidelines and the needless enhancements to the interface.

Being "rogue" is actually liberating, however. And I do hope to catch up soon, Mirandagriffin (talk) 16:05, 1 September 2010 (UTC) User:Marskell[reply]
