ANI notifications

Hi. Please note that there is a special template for adding user notifications of ANI reports. I have done it for you this time. Thanks. --Kudpung (talk) 03:44, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

Personal attacks

Any more of this and I'll block you myself. If you have a problem with other editors then sort it out like an adult rather than posting serious attacks on them on random ANI threads. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 15:26, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Get lost. There is no personal attack there, except for a suggestion that there is bigotry in an editor's motives, which is the exact same "attack" that began the entire thread. If you want editors to act like adults, start with yourself and get off your powertrip. Mindbunny (talk) 17:31, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And don't wield threats to block people like it's a special weapon you have, particularly in a dispute where you've taken sides. Act "like an adult" indeed. Mindbunny (talk) 17:38, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I for one don't have a side in this dispute, but I am quickly tiring of your personal attacks. Everything coming from you is unnecessarily rude [1] [2] [3], and your behavior is having the effect of being disruptive in causing distraction for the community. In fact, it strains belief that you are doing anything other than being as rude as you think you possibly can get away with. That's not cool; Wikipedia:Civility is one of our five pillars. So I'm going to warn you right now, please start being civil or I'll block you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 17:56, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The entire thread on ANI consists of accusations of anti-Semitism and bigotry. Have you actually read it? The initiator of that thread thinks someone is a bigot; I think the initiator is a bigot. So block me, that makes a lot of sense. Can admins do anything but make threats that cause a loss of respect, while thinking they earn respect? Admins on powertrips. Bleh. Block me. Nobody cares. Mindbunny (talk) 18:37, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have to say I don't see anything especially egregious said by Mindbunny here - I see forthright comments, but they're not close to anything I'd block over. It's an emotive topic, and when people discuss it at ANI we need to accommodate some degree of emotive response - and if someone is perhaps a bit less than perfectly civil towards admins, well, accepting that is part of the role. If any of those comments were aimed at me, I wouldn't be upset at all - I wouldn't have volunteered for the mop if I got upset by comments as relatively mild as these. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:03, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure SLR is not too upset given the fuss that he caused a couple of months ago when he called another editor a bigot himself in an equally charged forum. It even led to an RfC, but no sanctions came of it. Now he might say that in that situation he was right (and I actually agree with that), and in this situation Mindbunny is wrong, but in the end civility is not about how right your judgements are but how you act publicly. As such there is no difference between that situation and this one. I'd say we all let this drop. It's unnecessary drama.Griswaldo (talk) 20:04, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand it was suggested at AN/I that Mindbunny = Noloop, which would mean the bigot insult was probably pretty pointy, and possibly baiting. Still not worth any further discussion if you ask me.Griswaldo (talk) 20:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, we have "better things to do." Mindbunny, I was simply saying I think you need to be more civil, and you've had lots of people ask you a lot, and it will eventually come to a point where administrative action is necessary. In fact, I've often taken your POV on certain issues (I thought your edits to women's rights in saudi arabia were perfectly appropriate, and the other side reacted poorly) - however creating a atmosphere of rancor is counterproductive. I don't want you to get the impression I don't want you to edit here, or that you have to tiptoe as if on glass shards - just to be please be more polite. Everybody has the right to occasional sarcasm and even a lapse in judgment to being uncivil - but constant behavior towards this is a problem.
Re: BsZ - there is a longer history than just one ANI thread. I haven't even looked at the ANI thread; I am basing this threat on prior issues as well (and I will not delude myself; what I said above was most certainly a threat). I do also think it's quite likely this is not Mindbunny's first account (IIRC, he's either admitted as much or hinted at it): however, I have no proof, so I did not base my administrative threat on this at all. Magog the Ogre (talk) 20:59, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Further discussion is not necessary. There's a simple ultimatum here: stop making personal attacks on other editors, or be blocked. Extenuating circumstances are not an excuse to make personal attacks. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 21:01, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You really are on a powetrip. There are about 30 people in that thread calling someone anti-Semitic. If you don't explain why you're picking on just one person, you just come off as prejudiced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.220.135.34 (talk) 22:24, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
