some Huggle tips

Here's what I did to avoid accidentally hitting "q" (of course it still happens to me too once in a while):

  • Avoid keeping your finger over the q button, except, and only except, during times of high levels of vandalism.
  • Make sure the top slot (where it says "Page" next to a drop down list) matches the title on the diff screen.
  • Try using only "r" key instead. This simply reverts the edit, but doesn't warn the user. Once it's reverted, you can still manually warn the user by clicking the triangle ! button.
  • If you're ever unsure, use a custom summary. This way, 1. no one can accuse you of misusing it and 2.you are better to learn from mistakes.

Was this helpful? Tommy! 21:10, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to use the "r" key but it didn't revert. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:13, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It should. Also, you can always use "space." You will never, ever, ever get in trouble for missing a revert and skipping edits which you're unsure. ;) Tommy! 21:17, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now it works. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:17, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. keep those questions coming! Tommy! 21:20, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Myrtle Beach Pelicans

Some of the information on our page is INCORRECT. The roster is completely false. You may want to check your facts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.153.222.115 (talk) 20:08, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hi i wrote some true facts on vicky mcclures wiki page and you said im vandalizing?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.222.26.51 (talk) 20:31, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cyber-bullying

Just lettin' you know that I'll be watching cyber-bullying, since you already hit the 3RR mark on that one. If edits are eligible for rolling back (i.e. blatant vandalism), 3RR doesn't apply. —Waterfox (talk) 21:04, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:05, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, that's wrong. As long as you are reverting vandalism, it is not considered edit warring, and thus you cannot be blocked. Tommy! 21:33, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's true what you said that it's not considered edit warring because as long as I'm reverting vandalism. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:35, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I was more talking to Waterfox. :P. Of course, you could have a whole page history of reverting, highly unlikely, but possible, but the user would not get blocked. Tommy! 21:42, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's true what you're saying, Tommy. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:44, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You go to Wikipedia:How to edit a page and it'll tell you how to edit a page. Wayne Olajuwon chat 01:10, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Awards on userpage

Just like to say its probably best to have you most recently earned Service Badge then every single one you've earned. Just pointing it out but its your userpage so do what you wish :D Red Flag on the Right Side 03:05, 1 October 2010 (UTC) Okay. Wayne Olajuwon chat 19:56, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent revert

Hey man - when reverting with huggle, and a page is blanked and ClueBot doesn't revert it, it could be that the blanker is the creator of the page. In that case, tag the article (or whatever it is) for speedy deletion under G7. Thanks :) --Addihockey10 21:07, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you were wondering what page it was it would be EnRot, FYI. Keep up the great anti-vandalism work!!! --Addihockey10 21:08, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About your reverts.

Hi Wayne

I recently edited Nando's page due to some inaccuracies and you reverted them back, stating that is was vandalism. It was not vandalism to provide accurate information about Nando's restaurant. Vandalism is allowing poor information to be around Wikipedia. How can you make the inaccuracies accurate?

Another user reverted the same edit you made earlier. Wayne Olajuwon chat 00:30, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I don't get it then... so I'm not allowed to fix mistakes but other people are allowed to interfere on my corrections? The hell with Wikipedia then.... Let people believe in any crap it is posted there. Thanks, and have a good night.

Howdy!

You seem to be a new(er) rollbacker, and I'm glad to see that. Just so you learn one thing it took me and several other users a little bit to learn. Anyone can remove Vandal warnings from their talk page without it being vandalism per WP:BLANKING. Happy reverting! Allmightyduck  What did I do wrong? 02:01, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

dude

Did you read the article? My comment was more comprehensive than the paragraph of junk previously exhibited. It was edited by a 12 year old boy who has something against a thirty-something business man. Reverting it is only helping him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donkey100 (talkcontribs) 20:31, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did see it. You didn't put an edit summary and that's why it was reverted. Wayne Olajuwon chat 20:33, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, Angel-Coulby URL does not go to Angel Coulby information page therefore it is considere spam. Therefore it was removed as they are irrelevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.69.96.79 (talk) 20:37, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please use an edit summary when trying to remove spam. Wayne Olajuwon chat 20:57, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

im trying to create a page for an artiste but i keep getting speedy deletion notifications, can u help

Ayensua (talk) 21:25, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can't make articles that meet the criteria to be speedy deleted because users can be blocked from editing based on the information they put on a article, if it's appropriate or not. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:28, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wayne, i was editing the University of Plymouth Rowing club page and as the Current President of the club i don't understand the reversions being made when i try to edit in the committe section to the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wcsmith (talkcontribs) 21:32, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You need to put an edit summary in your edits so nobody will revert it. Wayne Olajuwon chat 21:35, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good job

For this. :) Tommy! 22:00, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Louis Jay

Hello Wayne Olajuwon, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Louis Jay, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a test page. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:14, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding adminship

I saw your post on Airplamenam's talk, which I stalk; I'd give it a few more months, a few thousand more edits, and some experience in areas other than vandal-fighting first. Cheers, Access Denied [FATAL ERROR] 05:34, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but what areas should it be? Wayne Olajuwon chat 15:15, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Edit anywhere you enjoy editing. Try places you haven't edited before to broaden your experience. You may even find a new place that you like. Honestly, I would suggest waiting, just like Access Denied said. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as though you seek adminship as a sort of status symbol, and will tailor your editing habits accordingly solely so you may succeed. Please don't take this the wrong way. It is an awesome thing that you want to become a better editor, and adminship could be a motivational goal. Again, it's no big deal and isn't very exciting. It should come as a needed tool that would help out with your day-to-day wiki-tasks. Some good goals to set would be expanding a few articles so that they can be listed at good articles (you follow NASCAR, so maybe you could work on a couple articles there). Also, brush up on your policy knowledge. That's all I can think of right now. Happy editing, and keep asking questions :) Airplaneman 17:22, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Airplaneman! :) Wayne Olajuwon chat 20:18, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And thank you for this. That's the kinda stuff you get when you're an admin. Hardly ever got that before the bit got twiddled for me... Airplaneman 23:37, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Hello, since you want to help me. You can add the starting results in the race results graph on 2010 Price Chopper 400. Make sure you add them per the qualifying table, though, because NASCAR.com results is incorrect. Nascar1996 22:26, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
