Mistagging reports: SONGS

Please note any mistagged articles below. The bot is working from this list of categories, so if you can identify the problem category, that would be most helpful.

I suggest that Category:Polkas doesn't belong in that list. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 05:14, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, have removed Category:Polkas from above list of categories. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 12:47, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the report. I believe you already removed all the banners and since the Category is gone from the source list, it will no longer be an issue. –xenotalk 14:02, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is this task still running in some way. Is there some feedback on downstream categories or somehow that the number of unassessed song article can be future reduced. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 01:46, 24 March 2010 (UTC) Woops, I see it's running! My bad. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 01:48, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, the task stalled out last night and I didn't restart it until just now. I am a little confused why Category:Cantopop singers is in the category list?... (Ditto Category:Cantopop singer-songwriters) –xenotalk 01:49, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
They shouldn't be. Goes to remove from category list. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 01:54, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nor Category:Cantopop, Category:Cantopop artists or Category:Cantopop musical groups. All derived from Cantopop. :( Regards, SunCreator (talk) 02:19, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Possible error This bot has tagged Magnapop discography with {{Songs}}. Certainly, discography pages are related to songs, but they are also related to {{Album}}s and in either case, they are tagged with {{WikiProject Discographies}} anyway. Should every article that has {{WikiProject Discographies}} also have {{Songs}} and {{Album}}? This seems unnecessarily redundant. Please post any response on my talk; I will try to remember to check here as well. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 03:40, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum The "offending" category is Category:Magnapop songs. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 03:42, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) I see you got it. The article has Category:Magnapop songs category in error. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 03:44, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FYI 12,861 pages would have been tagged by the bot if you let it loose on the categories you gave me (data on auto-assessability not generated). There were also some categories found downstream.
Thanks. I'll probably come back with another request for the ones that would have been caught with a tagging run, but I'd like to clear that unassessed category, and cleanup up the article space categories first. Getting those redlinked pages would be nice, but I'm not sure how much we would add to pages that are already bluelinked aside from territorial pissing. Something like Talk:Walt Disney has obvious relevance, but I'm not sure how much the project could add that the 10 other projects already there don't. Is there anyway to get a count of the redlinked pages as well as the bluelinked ones w/o a project banner? -Optigan13 (talk) 19:17, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think around 9300 of the blulinked pages are already tagged by projects (contains one of: {{WP or {{WikiProject or class = ). Including 589 that are already tagged by Cali - I must have goofed on the comparisons somewhere. –xenotalk 23:47, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did at WT:RODENT#Automated tagging. However, I tried before to get this done with another bot, and WT:RODENT#Automated banner adding was all the response there was. Ucucha 18:51, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rd232 talk 15:49, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PS Any chance the bot could report categories it comes across which aren't in the list? (That is, any unlisted subcategories of the listed categories.) Rd232 talk 15:52, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, see [2]... You haven't answered if you want it to also inherit classes? –xenotalk 16:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've added some categories from your list, and added the answer Y to the class question. The new categories include some duplicates; I trust this is not a problem? Rd232 talk 16:51, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Won't be an issue... The bot will filter duplicates. Do you think the consensus for this is solid? You guys discussed it for a few days, and the project doesn't appear to have that many members, so I think it's ok to run immediately. Thoughts? –xenotalk 16:58, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you think it's good to go, let me just get an OK from SandyGeorgia on it. Rd232 talk 17:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It looks fine to me, and there's not really anyone else to get consensus from. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:03, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mistagging reports

Please note any mistagged articles below. The bot is working from this list of categories, so if you can identify the problem category, that would be most helpful.

  • Hm, so should I not tag that category then? Or will you manually de-tag any that aren't really in the scope? If you decide to simply manually detag, please place {{bots|deny=Xenobot Mk V}}<!-- WP:VEN --> in place of the banner. –xenotalk 20:49, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, will do. Let's see how it goes; I think most will be fine, and those that aren't can be manually detagged. Rd232 talk 21:25, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This task will run a bit later today (UTC), I think.xenotalk 02:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your category list is not exhaustive, it uses a <category tree> which is recursive. As indicated in the instructions, recursing through categories will almost always cause mistagging. For example, is Category:Commanders of the Department of Alaska in the scope of your project? What about Category:First Ladies and Gentlemen of Connecticut? And Category:Federalist Papers by John Jay? I've pasted all the categories that were in your tree to your category page. Please remove the ones that are not within the scope of your project and report back when ready. –xenotalk 14:38, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've reduced it to state governors, state gubernatorial elections, and gubernatorial lists. It's not clear if territorial governors or first spouses are in scope so we'll leave them out. —Designate (talk) 15:29, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
