why hasnt any medication / therapy helped for my ptsd?

iv had a violent, abusive life. im 51, i wittneesed my sister get hit / carried on car and thrown off and killed, she just turned 16, i wasnt quite 15, im almost 52 years old!!!!!!!! iv been on every medication known to man, iv seen every mental health proffessonals over and over, iv been through cog thearapy, there isnt anything iv not tried, (except ect or hypnoses), my life story is too long to get into, but im reaching my limit now, mentally if it were not for my daughter, 2 sons, id take my life in a heart beat!!!!!!! although not ruled out. iv had my share of grief, ptsd, sadness ect ect ect, im done!!!!! i have not lived a 'normal' life ever!!!!! my frustration im not findind happiness is beyond description, my life befor my sister was killed consisted of alcholic abusive father, when i saw her ripped from next to me by drunk driver, (i lost my mind that night, i screamed so long and hard, to this very day it comes back i was never given help then and sought help myself in my late 30's, now in 50's im no closer to normality now), after she died i went into self distruct mode, i hurt and lost everyone who cared, and have 1 friend now. im tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im tired of repeating a life that is nothing but hell, then and now!!!!!!!!!!!!! im tired of drugs that just make me more life less, i cant work, i have no motivation, not an ounce of well being or having the strength mentally or physically to moove, and im tired of drugs that make me over anxious, i either cant sleep, or i sleep weeks away, ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THE STRENGTH LITTERALLY, MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY, TO GET UP / TO WANT TO GET UP / TO WORK / TO FUNCTION!!!!!!!!!!! I DONT WANT HAPPILLALY EVER AFTER, I WANT TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE / ACCEPT ADVERSITY, AND 'MOVE ON' TO LAUGH AGAIN, ALL I WANT / NEED IS TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Colorpuncture page edit- alternative view point not given space

On this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorpuncture I put an edit in which is a reference to a biophysicist, Phd, scientist and author Dr. James Oschman who offered a compilation of research which validated the modality of colorpuncture in verifiable and empirically gathered data. I myself have been practicing the modality since 22 years. It would be basically the ONLY piece of info on that page which validates the modality, all other bits in the "reception" area are invalidations. It was not included. The invalidations come from people who are not scientists, and who have not offered the same kind of scientifically gathered data, but rather they are offering statements some of which are incorrect about the research on the effects of light in the body. For instance Fritz Popp's research was also tossed out, saying it has not been verified. That's simply incorrect. The person offering that has not looked into it, because Fritz Popp's research has been accepted in Europe. If "verification" means approval by the American FDA, then the idea of verification is bogus. It seems wiwkipedia has an editorial policy about this modality. I reverted your edit and regret that you disagreed with it. You could have sent me a message or placed a note on the article's talk page. I am a scientist and a long time contributer to WP. I do not follow anybody elses's "editorial policy" (WP doesn't have one). I have encountered the work of Oschman before. As far as I can tell, he makes a living selling books (books are not peer-reviewed scientific sources) about various alternative medicine practices that have not been proved effective (or have been proved ineffective). He makes only fleeting reference to colorpuncture in his book, so I see no reason to say that he "lists it" as anything. Your edit was extremely vague and contained several terms ("dynamic systems", "body/mind", "wholeness") that I consider alternative medicine 'red flags'. Famousdog (talk) 15:51, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Yes, if you took a sortable Wikitable, and you added a "rowspan" parameter to it, you messed it up. It's not that big of a deal, if you understand that it messes up the table then just don't do it again. No one expects everyone to be perfect at Wikipedia, nor does anyone expect (even most people) to know the really technical stuff like this. You made a mistake. If you click on the sort buttons at the top of the example table John of Reading gave, you'll see that you get weird funny results. And it gets more messed up if you keep on hitting different sort buttons. I think when he said "Try it!" he meant try clicking on the table like a reader would do. You can adjust this by going to "My preferences", "Date and time" tab, and adjusting your time zone. This will fix the times shown on history and contributions pages. The times shown in timestamped signatures, as on this page, will continue to be shown as UTC times. -- John of Reading (talk) 19:32, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Spoiler Option for Wikipedia

I wanted those at Wikipedia to consider a spoiler option in the articles because time and time again I have perused an article such as Hell's Kitchen most recently where under the seasons section it immediately reveals the winner of the competition in a very open manor where someone such as myself can easily notice the said spoiler. An option to fix this is to add an easy to use spoiler drop down option which displays what is hidden by the add-on.

Confused about new articles/articles for creation/talk article etc.

I think I may have created duplicate pages because I'm confused about the difference between simply creating a new article, creating an "article for creation," and creating a talk article. From what I can tell nothing happens with my pages and I'm not sure how to tell if they are successfully published or not. If I search for the article name in wikipedia nothing comes up so I'm uncertain how to get my articles approved. I'm also concerned that I will be blocked for creating duplicate pages. Please help. Thanks!

Yes, you have posted three copies of the article - the others are at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/South American Silver Corp. and Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/South American Silver Corp.. That's easily fixed - please don't worry about that!

However, this Google search tells me that you may be the "Investor Relations and Administration Assistant" for the corporation. This is a problem, because Wikipedia articles about companies are not usually written by representatives of those companies, but by independent volunteer editors working from news reports and such like. I suggest you read through the FAQ page for organisations, which explains the issues much better than I can do it here.

I suspect that the article will be deleted, I'm afraid, because it does not explain how the company is notable enough to have a place in an encyclopedia. -- John of Reading (talk) 20:18, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

The first one is the typical mainspace location, where articles normally reside. It looks like you created this article correctly, though I haven't examined it based on our policies of inclusion. The second one is an optional location for users who want to start working on an article but don't want it to be "official" yet, so that it can have a chance to improve before coming under more intense scrutiny. The third location is meant for a discussion of the article - see Help:Using talk pages.

Don't be worried about being blocked; we have a policy to assume good faith so someone with good intentions isn't punished.

Thanks for the helpful information. I see that the main page has been deleted. I understand that being a publicily listed company doesn't necessarily equal notability, but South American Silver Corp has gained recognition for having one of the largest known undeveloped silver and indium resources - and in particular for having such a large resource of primary indium. As the resource is located in Bolivia, the company also received additional attention recently due to the political climate there. I cited various independant sources for this article. Any thoughts on whether that would deem the company notable enough for an article to stand? Would it help if I highlighted these factors more clearly and prominently in the article? I seached for a recording artist by name and got the following reply:

I then clicked on the "You can ask for it to be created" link but when it opened there was no area to request the info on the artist to be created, who to ask, anything at all.

So HOW do you ask someone to create the article, press info, bio, etc of an artist ?

The link goes to Wikipedia:Articles for creation which says: "If you have an idea for the title of an article, but no content for the article itself, please see Requested articles." Follow the link, find the right section for the topic, and click "edit" to the right of the section heading. However, there are thousands of requests and few volunteers working on them.

If you want to write suggested content for the article and can satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (music) then you have a better chance. Start by clicking the big "Create an article now!" at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:44, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

See the links under WP:EIW#Translate, and Help:Interlanguage links. See the List of Wikipedias to find the one in your language. There are also WikiProjects here on the English Wikipedia for many countries of the world. See the WikiProjects for the country or countries where your language predominates. This is only possible, if an equivalent article exists on the english Wikipedia. If this is the case, then there should be a link (usually on the left side of the page) where it says "In anderen Sprachen". Click on "Englisch" and you should get to the english equivalent of the German article. If this is not possible, you can try entering the url of the article into Google translator. The First True Native Americans are a State recognized tribe. We were recognized by the state of Louisiana since 1989. It was presented to the house of Representatives by Congressman Charles Dewitt. Second, this is an issue to be brought up on the talk page of the article in question. There you will find the editors who regularly watch and edit that article.

I'm not finding a lot of sources on Donald Bevan the playwright. None of them, including the Wikipedia article Donald Bevan nor his IMDB page indicate a death date. He was alive as recently as 2007, since he gave an interview with the New York Post about a possible staging of his play by the movie director Spike Lee, see [3]. Of course, the absence of evidence isn't the evidence of absence, but as of 4 years ago he was alive. I can't find anything else in Google News archives indicating an obit or anything, so my guess is he hasn't died yet. --Jayron32 05:40, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

You can post a message to the talk page of the article. Go to the article, click on "Discussion" at the top, and add a new section there. When you post your comments, put in the {{editprotected}} template. An admin will come along and decide if your change is needed. If they don't make the change, they'll leave a reason why. Question adding mods to softwares

I been working on some softwares by adding mods to it, to be more realistic. These softwares are games on the markets and posted on wikis. Now some of these games arent that good, til someone can improve it. I just started this and updating my user's profile and expanding Japanese Warships in WWII. Wasnt sure if i can or allow to upload an file for users to download or giving links for them to switch and download from there. I just want to improve the games in WWII mostly and help expands wikipedia sources. One of these software's forum is out of date and spammers have taken a toll there and look like it will be abandoned soon. When you say you have “been working on some software,” do you mean that you have been creating/editing encyclopedia articles about games, or do you mean you have been programing the games themselves? Wikipedia contains encyclopedia articles about games, but it does not contain games themselves. So if you are thinking of uploading game files, sorry, there is no place for that here. —teb728 t c 12:05, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

I havent posted anything on encyclopedia articles about games yet, just updating some Japanese warships at the moments. I didnt think im allow to post any files for that games i mention, but wasnt sure if i can drop a link for them to goto and download it from there. Only changing some codes to be more accurate while in game like it took place in WWII. If you goto "Pacific Storm" page you will see article (Reception) that have negative feedbacks. I manage to correct most details and have some fans out there to make more models to improve the game itself over the years. Later when i get all this completed, then i can update that page (Pacific Storm) if i am allow to. So others can take a peek and try it out for fun. Hello, I've worked in mods myself, and no. The game engine and the unmodded content is copyrighted work, you can not post it on Wikipedia. Even if it isn't (some older engines have been opensourced and some games are opensource at the get-go), please understand that Wikipedia is not a filehosting service. • I decided to stop working on wiki due to lack of trusts and teamworks. Sorry it didnt worked out for some of you guys. For now on, i will keep the details to myself and expand it elsewhere. I manage to undo all my works by removing the details and leave the rest for you guys!

I want to say one more thing before i closed this, the informations on some ships on WWII arent correct. If you dont use common sense and read the details more closer and use judgements, then you will get the big pictures. Compare to other ships arent that different, for example when i was changing the Mogami Class Cruiser and max speed is 37knots. It should been 34.5 knots at full load (12,400tons) the Mogami Cruiser at that time was light/standard load around 8,500tons. Later on will be added torpedo protections and switch to 8"50 guns instead of triple 6" guns. Also added crew listed as peacetime (minimum crew) to wartime and giving XXX/XXX tags. As well the range of the ships based on fuel (oil) by tonnage and calulate by cruising speed. Now some of these ships that have been posted are way off.

I thinking about having a book publish someday and hopefully we can clear some of this up, infact you guys will never going to complete this without doing some solid ground works. There just no books out there have complete details on them, of course you cant just guess them, but using calulation measurements and best knowledges as possible.

I'm sorry you feel this way, but perhaps you misunderstood what Wikipedia is for. It's an encyclopedia and verifiability is a core policy. Original research is simply not acceptable, sorry. There are certain things that constitute as common sense knowledge (i.e. information which do not require sources like "The sum of 1 and 1 is 2"), and the speed of warships isn't one of them. If the information does not exist, we just leave them blank, not make something up.

Adding a Sl. No: column

In the Malayalam films of 2011 article, please help me put a serial number (Sl. No:) column in the extreme left of the table listing the films released in the year. This is required to quickly find out how many films released in the year, sequentially. I tried but not able to align the table properly. I put a help-me request in my talk page, but no support received.

Yuck. I've found a way to do it, and have done January's films in my sandbox. About half an hour's editing... BUT over here is a comment that "current concensus is to format filmographies as sortable tables". Does it really have to be on the left? If you want to keep the Rowspan, and not make it sortable, it isn't terribly difficult, just slightly tedious, to add a count column to the right: here, for example--SPhilbrickT 15:21, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

For these tables, unlike discography tables, the colors help visually group the entries. Keeping that formatting in the non-rowspan format would give a similar visual grouping. It would lose the visual grouping by date, but keep the grouping by month, and I'm not sure there is substantial value in emphasizing "which ones were same day?". The correct procedure to rename an article is to move the article to another title (see Help:How to move a page). This will automatically create an article under the new title with the content of the old article and turn the old article into a redirect to that new article. I presuming that you are talking about Korean Air Lines Flight 85, which you want moved to Korean Air Flight 85. In my opinion this is a quite reasonable move, unfortunately Korean Air Flight 85 is currently a redirect to Operation Yellow Ribbon. I believe the redirect for Korean Air Flight 85 would have to be removed first. I added a {{db-g6}} tag to the redirect, and presuming it is speedily deleted, the page can then be moved. (I'll do the move after that, If I forget, drop me a line). Question on info boxes

Hi there-

I would like to know how to add a website to the infobox for a robot. The Template:Infobox_robot does not currently include a space for a website, unlike the infobox for Template:Infobox_information_appliance. Is it possible to update the robot template to include a website. I am working on bringing the ASIMO article up to date and would like to include the link in the infobox section.

printing Wiki mathematical articles (eg Laplace Transform) so that full math notation is reproduced faithfully

I research lots of math-based articles on wiki and often want to print copies. In the past I could do this with ease and the math /equations came out perfectly. But recently the notation has started coming out very blurred though the text is OK.

I use WindowsXP and either Google Chrome or the latest version of Firefox operating on a 32 bit desktop. At first I thought this might be due to my fairly recent switch to Chrome but I don't think so because I get perfect results from other web sites (eg from Mathematica); and whereas Firefox used to give perfect results from wiki it does not do so anymore

I have Googled this problem on the web ad infinitum but the results are very patchy, conflicting and in some cases rather dubious. I have also contacted your help desk without success. Can you help please _ HELP!!!

Now that I've looked at the pdf, the math equations are less crisp that I would have expected. I haven't used the pdf option very much, has it always looked like this? I would have guessed it would be better.

How to see if your rough draft page has been review

I have recently wrote up and Wikipedia page the dicusses a marketing research firm called Peryam and Kroll, Instead of sending it to the public, I sent it in for review to Wikipedia staff to see what needs to be changed or added for complete approval. It has been two weeks since i sent it off and wasn't sure how to see if someone sent back changes for me to fix.

Where to go?

An editor is already more then a year trying to add his personal opinion into articles. He is following almost the entire range of articles related to euthanasia. Checkuser question

When a checkuser checks your IP, does it check the IP that you registerd it on, or the IP you have recentley edited it with?(if you changed your IP(not that i'm going to do it)).--GoldenGlory84 (talk) 21:04, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

I don't have checkuser access and don't know details but I think they mostly look at the IP used in recent edits. See Wikipedia:CheckUser and note Wikipedia:Checkuser#IP information retention. I have never edited Wikipedia before and would like to start doing so. I am not so clear on exactly what is required for a citation. Does information have to come from a specific book/journal/webpage? I recently took the Budweiser brewery tour in St. Louis and would like to update the Budweiser Wikipedia with some information I learned there. privacy issue - deleting history

Hi,

My daughter was messing around on wikipedia and entered our home address as a joke (on the wiki entry for Red Panda) at around 20:52 today (July 19, 2011). It was deleted by someone else right away, but our address still shows up on the 'view history' tab of the Red Panda page. Is there anyway that I can delete that 'history' entry? It's a big privacy breech - believe me my daughter WILL NOT be making that mistake again.

After looking at your history, it appeares that you are trying to create a subpage at "Parentpage/subpage". On Wikipedia there groups of pages called namespaces. If one were to create a page at "Parentpage/subpage", that page is created in the same namespace as the actual content articles on the wiki. If you wish to create a subpage in your own user namespace, you will have to have User:Juliannriolo in the name. For example, you could create a sandbox for yourself at User:Juliannriolo/Sandbox. Juliann, I see you are trying to create an article for the Brass Taps at the University of Guelph. First of all you should read Wikipedia’s notability standards for businesses/organizations. Wikipedia accepts articles only for subjects that are notable by our standards. If you think the Brass Taps meets our notability standards after reading them, you need to write the article to be neutral rather than promotional; Wikipedia does not tolerate promotional articles. The drafts on your user page and on the user page of your alternate account are hopelessly promotional and would be deleted on sight if they were in article spaces. Think of something that might be written in the Toronto Star, but with footnotes like a research paper. Verify all facts in the article with citations to independent reliable sources. (Since the Brass Taps is a university activity, the university is not an independent source.)

On a side issue, I notice that you are using three different accounts, User:Juliannriolo, User:Thereseriolo and your original account, User:Julianntherese. This is permitted since you are not using them disruptively. But it makes it difficult to know how to send you a message. Use magazine's old name?

For the album pages I'm creating I include album reviews from Billboard magazine that sometimes go back as far as the 1950s. Many years ago the magazine had a couple of variations on its current name. In 1961 and 1962 it was called Billboard Music Week, and before that it used its original title, The Billboard. Since I'm linking one of these names of the magazine in my article to the article for the magazine itself, it seemed like using the exact name that was used at the time of the album review would be acceptable, but I've started wondering if there is a standard for this kind of situation that I'm not aware of. I suggest you use a piped link from whatever the name was at the time, to the current article - e.g. ''[[Billboard (magazine)|The Billboard]]'' == The Billboard.

(e/c) I think using the actual title the magazine went by at the time that the source material was written is correct. I don't know of any policy or guideline that directly addresses the issue, but many citation and sourcing polices and guidelines can be distilled to say that we should be precise in our sourcing, providing good enough attribution as to exactly what source was used, such that someone who wants to verify the information themselves can find the source. Providing the exact name of the magazine at the time the source material was published should help in locating the source material for that person, and so it seems the right path. It looks like another user reverted that edit. For future reference, you can edit an un-protected article by clicking "Edit" on the top-right portion of the article. From there, you can undo another user's edit. For editing a protected article, you will have to register an account. Blocked from editing own talk page

I noticed a user who has been blocked for promotion/spamming (see their talk page). The notice they were given says that they can add {{unblock}} below the notice, but I noticed that the block log entry on their contributions page says "account creation blocked, cannot edit own talk page". Nope, there is a contradiction. This could be because the option to block talk page access was not intentional (this blocking parameter is placed by checking or unchecking a box which can be toggled on or off by accident) or it could have been intentional based on the edits, but the block notice not tailored as an oversight. I have identified a possible inaccuracy of fact in an article, which I want to flag-up. I can't edit it because I don't know what it should be - all I can say is that I don't think it is correct as stated and hope that a more knowledgeable person can investigate. How do I do that? If I describe the specific issue it might make my question clearer: There is an image 'HMS Amazon (1799) pursuing possible Belle Poule.jpg' which is used in articles 'HMS Amazon (1799)' and 'HMS Belle Poule (1806)' (and maybe others). The title and captions do indeed indicate some doubt about the Belle Poule being a subject in the image but I think the doubt is stronger than that. From the articles (above), both ships were frigates of similar size ca. 38/40 gun, yet only the left-hand vessel, presumably Amazon in pursuit, resembles a frigate - the right-hand vessel, although close inspection indicates three masts, looks much smaller, perhaps a ship-rigged sloop. If so, either the tentative identification of Belle Poule is wrong, or more seriously, the article on that ship is. So, how do I bring this to the attention of that vast body of knowledgeable people out there who might otherwise not happen upon it themselves but who might be interested in resolving the matter? The caption is as used by the holders of the image, the National Maritime Museum - 'The Frigate Amazon pursuing an unamed French ship (possibly the Belle Poule)' [7]. The archivists there are experts in their field, and acknowledge that this is only a tentative identification. Unfortunately we don't know what they base this on, and can't know what Pocock intended his drawing to represent, as it looks like this is just a rough preparatory sketch. Possibly he did not know Belle Poule's design when he drew it. The article on Belle Poule is right about her design, the captions on both articles clearly state the NMM's line, that this may only possibly be Belle Poule. I don't think we can embark on a critical interpretation of the image without engaging in original research. I personally don't think there is anything that needs to be changed. Not an expert, but in my opinion it's perspective. It is merely a drawing after all. A date can also be seen clearly at the bottom - 13 March 1806. The date of the capture of Belle Poule.

The only other ships (beside the frigates HMS Amazon and Belle Poule) directly involved in the Action of 13 March 1806, were the much larger ships-of-the-line HMS London and the French Marengo (the only other French vessel in the engagement). HMS Repulse and HMS Ramilles (also ships-of-the-line) joined later but only against Marengo. The Amazon was the one pursuing Belle Poule. Seeing that all other ships are even unlikelier to be the one depicted in the drawing, the possibility of it being the Belle Poule is actually quite strong.-- Obsidi♠n Soul 13:19, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Bullet - Incorrect Rendering to PDF and PediaPress

I can confirm this. The rendered PDF contains no pictures and is one continuous paragraph. I suggest you report this error to the Help:Books/Feedback. They also have a live chat if you're interested.

Editing with a conflict of interest is strongly discouraged - it is very hard to be neutral.

If the company meets the notability guidelines, someone else will, eventually, create it.

However, whilst we don't recommend it, it is not totally forbidden. If you do decide to go ahead;

• a) It would be best to edit some other articles first, to get used to Wikipedia
• b) Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations
• c) It is possible to create a non-live draft, and get it checked - by using the Wizard and choosing "create submission for review" - so that another person will check it.  Chzz  ►  14:56, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi , i have noticed that in the islam section , mor enotably the quraan section there are a few chapters of the quraan that you are able to read when you click on the arabic pdf and also allows you to save it . Unfortunetly i noticed that not all the chapters of the quraan are on the pdf format , is it possible to have all the chapters in this format .

Which article are you referring to? We haven't an article called "quraan surah", but Quran has links to articles on all the individual suras. There is no particular reason why Wikipedia articles should link to the full text of the chapters: they may do so, but Wikipedia is not a collection of links. --ColinFine (talk) 22:19, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

How do I get rid of a dead end warning message at the top of an article I created? It says

Need help with misc questions

• Need help with putting on pictures non the top right of the page (please try to dumb it down!)
• Does a picture have to be in PGA. Form to post it on wikipedia?
• How to make one of those charts (mostly in police and fire departments articles on the top right hand corner under the picture that explains the year established,No. Of apparatus/vehicles, How many workers,EMS level,chief,stations ect. Look in the Boston fire department article and you should see what I am talking about.

Hello! Much of the work at the top right of many pages is done through templates. The two templates to which you are referring are Template:Infobox fire department and Template:Infobox law enforcement agency. You can find these and any of the other thousands of templates on wikipedia by clicking on the "Help" link on the side of any page and perform a search with the "Template" box checked. For example, if you type in "fire department" with the template button pressed, the first entry that pops up is the template to which I just referred you.

MystBot keeps removing zh: link from new article

Left-behind children in China is a new article in which I've tried to add a link to zh:留守儿童.[9][10][11] User:MystBot keeps removing the link.[12][13][14] User talk:Myst doesn't seem to be maintained and my French isn't good enough to chime in at fr:Discussion utilisateur:Myst. However, after I did this edit, (using the copy-pasted title from ZhWp,) and re-ran the page, it found it to be correct, left the link in place, and added the EnWp link to the ZhWp article. Presumably, all updated interwiki bots should also leave the link alone.

Also, as a side note, you don't have to speak certain language on talk pages of different Wikipedias. I've done a lot of multi-lingual edits, and no one has ever complained to me about leaving a note in English for a user outside EnWp. :-) ^Avic_ennasis @ 06:29, 19 Tamuz 5771 / 21 July 2011 (UTC)

Question again: Notability

I have written an article about Lydia Schatz, which has been suggested for speedy deletion, because she is only notable as a victim. This is true. On the other hand her death received a lot of media attention. Would Death of Lydia Schatz be an article that could be notable? Yes, articles about crimes should usually be about the event, not the person, but this depends on the focus of the reliable sources. See WP:CRIME and WP:SINGLEEVENT for more information. After moving, please rewrite the article to focus on the event, make sure you maintain absolute neutrality, take note of due and undue weight, and provide as much reliable sources as you can. The child's name is not mentioned in the CBS article. It comes from the whynot site which doesn't seem to be a reliable source. Google's crawling of secure.wikimedia.org.

Searching the English Wikipedia with google for "foo" <http://www.google.com/#q=site:en.wikipedia.org+foo> gives 15 200 results, but doing the same search on the secure site <http://www.google.com/#q=site:secure.wikimedia.org+foo> gives only 1 hit. I expected the latter to give many more since it would be for all the languages, and that I'd have to include a "inurl:/en/" like: <http://www.google.com/#q=site%3Asecure.wikimedia.org%20inurl%3A%2Fen%2F%20foo>.

Turns out that <https://secure.wikimedia.org/robots.txt> requests no crawling. Anyone know why, and why there is still 1 hit (searching for anything seems to show only 1 hit). -- Jeandré, 2011-07-21t09:16z
