The current month of BLPs we are addressing is Category:Unreferenced BLPs from October 2008.

Welcome to WikiProject Unreferenced BLP Rescue. Several Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to reducing the number of Unreferenced biographies of living persons articles. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.

Goals

The Unreferenced BLP Rescue Project aims to eliminate unreferenced BLPs from Wikipedia by concentrating on one month's tagged articles at a time. We have found its much more enjoyable to do this important task as a team, rather than labouring on Gaelic hurler articles by yourself.

If, however, you prefer sticking to sinlge topics or regions, then WP:URBLP has helped to create lots of lists of unreferenced BLPs by topic or WikiProject, or you can use WP:CATSCAN to create your own lists, like this one.

As of November 12, 2010, we have eliminated six months of tagged unreferenced BLPs.

Scope

This Wikiproject covers all articles contained within Category:Unreferenced BLPs.

History

The Unreferenced BLP Rescue Project began in July 2010 as a concerted effort to try to eliminate unreferenced BLPs, one month at a time.

Trophy cabinet

Celebrating the completion of a month, a trophy is selected that represents a theme or significant event in the work for that month. For example, April 2008 had many Gaelic athletes, and so a Gaelic Football trophy was selected. The image need not be of an actual trophy, but should represent the theme.

Guidelines

Articles should have references from reliable sources added to verify information in the biography of a living person. The format of the citation should follow the guidance provided by Wikipedia:Citing sources.
