*'''Never''' You cannot deny that Hydriz is making this request for the right reasons, however, quite frankly, I don't trust him with any rights locally at Simple English WP and, therefore, find it unbelievable that he has even considered applying for global rights, even with the validity of the reasoning for the request. Why? Well, for a number of reasons. Firstly, Hydriz continued to use his bot at Simple without approval despite being given numerous warnings to stop. As a result it is now blocked, and the user has made no attempt to appeal this, presumably meaning he sees it's perfectly legitimate (Which it is.). He also [http://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Simple_News/About&diff=prev&oldid=2651369 "takes over"] a community area without a consensus and in clear violation of [[en:WP:OWN]]. This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion, though only stewards may use {{yes}} or {{no}} templates.

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (other than requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, no other exceptions are allowed , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Wikitanvir

Hi, I'm asking for global rollback privileges. I am an active cross-wiki vandal and spam fighter, and doing this job for quite some times. GR privileges will speed this task. I am a sysop on Bengali Wikipedia and Wiktionary and also on Commons. I use #cvn-swconnect and #cvn-sw-spamconnect to track recent changes and take care of unwanted edits, and also available on many Wikimedia channels. Thanks for your consideration. — [ Tanvir | Talk ] 17:18, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Hydriz

Hi, I am here to request for Global Rollback. I believe I have attained the requirements of getting it as I have done many Countervandalism undo-es and have rollback on the Simple English Wikipedia, Simple English Wiktionary and sysop on Wikimedia Strategic Planning. I monitor 15 CVN channels, especially #cvn-sw so I believe getting Global Rollback is very useful for me. Thanks. --Hydriz 09:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment I would like to clarify this issue. I accidentally clicked on rollback as I saw the text "Superscript text". As my screen isn't very big (its a small laptop), I totally couldn't see the paragraph below. You may say it is a misuse, but I believe it is a technical issue. However, on CVN, I undo edits by checking everything. If I have doubts, I don't do the revert. Hydriz 14:31, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for User:MMuzammils

Greetings, I would like to request permanent exemption from global IP blocks, for the following reasons.

  • I'm based in the United Arab Emirates, there is a telecoms duopoly here; both telecoms providers pass all Internet traffic through transparent proxies, as mandated by UAE’s telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA). I have no other legal choice.
  • Because of the restricted Internet freedoms, I use a paid VPN service to bypass these blocks and in some cases edit Wikipedia (because my public shared IP was blocked by Wikimedia) via this VPN service, as the IP ranges blocked were too extensive.
  • My quality of edits: WikiChecker
  • Note: Unfortunately some religious or other Wikipedia articles are selectively blocked by the ISPs (government) here, and I have no choice but to use my paid VPN to get those articles. My VPN provider uses some servers which are classified as open proxies or anonymous proxies by Wikimedia. I'm pretty sure that's where I might get stuck again :-)
  • Note: Wikipedia admin User:Shell Kinney just granted me IP exemption (sans anonymous proxies) for Wikipedia and Commons projects.

I have managed to work around these blocks over the past 5 years of editing, but lately they’re getting too aggressive and have started to frustrate and deter me from making contributions. Considering my contributions and clean record over the years, I hope my request will be granted to edit with my registered account including over anonymous proxies. Thanks--MMuzammils 17:16, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - Please note that this right only exempts you from global blocks - any local blocks will still apply, and you'll need to request local ipbe on those wikis. Ajraddatz (Talk) 17:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see no problem with granting this. The reason is valid, and the user (with 10k global edits and a clean block log) can be trusted not to abuse the privilege for disruptive editing. Jafeluv 18:08, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
